January 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Yesterday I r&r an O2 sensor on truck two. Sensor itself wasn't too bad to remove, but the plug for it was about a foot above - near the top of the bell housing. Not sure what steps the service manual may have had, but long skinny & jointless arms would have been a big help. Unfortunately my arms are none of those things... after several attempts I found one spot where I could just get my fingertips on the connection. Job done, check engine light turned off and a short test drive to return the socket set and we are "so far, so good". It appears that we are having a bit of drizzle this morning. Supposed to stop soon. If it does I would like to start applying some poly to the shadow box and, between coats, start pruning the muscadines up in the back yard. Supposed to be a nice 60* tomorrow, I should finish both those jobs.

January 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Last weekend did some dry wall plastering in one room that we are just redoing. I really don't like to plaster but at least it's not a lot to do. Yesterday had to go over to mom's house and rig up the mail box after the snow plow went by fast and threw the snow against it and the post broke. Not doing any thing in the shop with this cold weather that we have right now.

January 25, 20224 yr Popular Post Frank's wedding is interesting. The ceremony is taking longer than expected. The new bride's Cartier accoutrements required a bit of fitting finesse and some online research. But, all is well, now. And she's happy. A few adjustments still required but, tomorrow is another day.
January 26, 20224 yr Popular Post Got the third of four heat ventilators up and running last evening. Turned out to be a bad pneumatic thermostat so the storage room gave up it's to the cause. That list of parts for the last heat ventilator grew again. Fun part is finding parts for a mid 50's system. Off to the hunt. May have to fire up ... Edited January 26, 20224 yr by Larry Buskirk

January 26, 20224 yr Popular Post Now that's just nice. But come'on....did you really have to torture us by leaving the door open so we could see the sunshine and dry ground. That's kinda rubbing salt in our wounds.
January 26, 20224 yr Popular Post Last week, a "pour over" coffee maker spilled and dumped grounds and hot water all over the kitchen. It does not fit well on my coffee mug and I was trying to use it on a measuring cup. So I decided to make something so it would work. Found a scrap leftover piece of Lyptus that would work. First problem was the bottom ring is the same diameter as the top, so just making something for it to sit in did not work. Thought about it and came up with an escape channel. Then while the top is circular, it is ovalish as it goes down to the base. So it took some fiddling and two tries to get it to work
