Go for it, Gunny!

I made one phone call to a friend inquiring if I could work with him on short notice even if for few months.  That friend made some calls and by end of day I have 3 interviews for next Wednesday.  Had to tell Mother I can't visit next week but she was elated I might get a different job with more vacation and benefits.  :D

@Gunny  After the shipyard retired me on disability I got a job at a local welding shop. Low pay and minimal benefits. One day I overheard the business owner blame me for damage to an overhead door.Something I had nothing to do with. I went to his office and really let him know what I thought. During my lunch hour I applied for another job just down the street. Better pay and good vacation and insurance benefits. Next day I was called and informed I had the job.Took all my belongings and left. A couple of days later my new boss told me my former employer had called him and complained because he had hired me. That really made my day.

It’s an odd thing when employers don’t believe their employees first until proven otherwise. In our industry we find that happens frequently. We supply nurses across the country for a specialty infusion and it amazes me how often patients will accuse a nurse of something and when we investigate it turns out to be not true. Accusing an employee of something you can’t prove or later turns out to be false leaves bad feelings and is so counterproductive. Weird world these days. Best of luck in your search Gunny.
