I'm sure all the recipients of this year's prizes will love what they got.  @Masonsailor, you will absolutely love that Laguna band saw.  I won that last year, and I love mine.  It's a heavy item, which is good, but it was a beast for me to get it downstairs to my shop in the basement.  The dovetail saw I won this year couldn't have come at a better time.  I have been wanting to learn how to hand cut dovetails, and this will facilitate that learning process.  @p_toad, when you can, if you don't mind, I would like to see your review of that steady rest.  I've been on the fence, (those points on the slats are getting painful), about whether to make one, or buy a commercial item.  Congratulations to all.

I love that bandsaw @Masonsailor  I was the winner of the first Laguna 14/12 on these forums and it has performed very well. I primarily use it for making bandsaw boxes. I definitely recommend you purchase the mobile base for the saw and install it while you assemble the unit. As @PostalTom said, it is a heavy item. Congrats!

Thanks. I’m looking forward to it. This will replace the SS bandsaw that I use for fine detail work so it will probably have a 3/16” blade on it.

@Masonsailor Yes I did buy the Laguna mobile base. I just checked today's prices and it is selling at Woodcraft and Amazon for $175.00. You may want to opt for something different, but I do recommend you put it on a mobile base.

@PostalTom i don't want to upset any apple carts, but i have requested that @John Morris re-gift my winning to another person.   I (surprisingly) don't have a lathe; nor do i have room for one.

Before the drawing, I was debating what I should do if I won the band saw for the second year in a row.  I had pretty much decided to do what you did.  Luckily, I didn't have to worry about it.
