October 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Friday again folks, and the weather be a changing. Woke up to 47° here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" this morning, might make it to 60°. Don't think they'll get the road out front done before the plows start running which will make getting in/out of the driveway a bit of fun. If it dries out enough I've got to get at that pile of downed trees/branches for firewood. Better get the snow blower checked over also. Might be easier to make like a bear and hibernate. So, What's on your weekend agenda?
October 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Going put a gas insert in our fireplace tomorrow. Gas lines to run.
October 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Finish up some rolling pins. Supposed to rain here Saturday and then get a bit cooler.

October 15, 20214 yr Popular Post No shortage of plenty to do. Hmmmm. Partly cloudy and mid 70's the next two days. Might be time to go visit the rifle range just to get re-acquainted. I've got two large pecan bowl blanks that should be about ready for 2nd turning. 3 pecan bowl blanks to rough turn. One more pecan log that needs to be cut up. Not yet aware of any honey do's incoming. .40
October 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Installing casters on two drawer cabinets. Then, cut and install two shelves/benches. One for the SCMS. The other for the laser. That should take me to nap time. Edited October 15, 20214 yr by Gene Howe

October 15, 20214 yr Popular Post On the list for this weekend, continue to move stuff from the garage to the shop. I have been told 'I want to park in there sometime in the near future' which means now in wife speak. If I can get that done, I will see about finishing up the modified Paulk outfeed/assembly table. If I run into a whole bunch of extra time, I will see about making some zero clearance inserts for the table saw.
October 15, 20214 yr Popular Post Got started yesterday on finishing turning one of 3 pecan platters which have been sitting for two years. Continuing to water the new grass. Tomorrow have a woodturning club meeting.

Some years back I put in a gas insert, that first year we lost power during a winter storm and it was very nice. That was about 2 or 3 days without power as I recall. The gas insert saved the day, that and the gas grill. But, even though it was a non-vented model, we always had that lingering smell after using it. Some few years ago I switched that out for an electric insert. Much nicer. But then, we haven't had another power outage like that other one.

Hopefully, it doesn’t set off the O2 alarm. 3 grand down the tubes if it does.
