No dice on finishing the gaps anytime soon. Each time the lights get turned of, I spy a few more gaps. Plus, I fell the last three steps on the ladder yesterday. What kind of an idiot does ladder work in the dark?:PullingHair: Sore as the devil this AM. Might take today off. At least the climbing part.

Ok roused my curiosity. Mmmm that might be dangerous. What does the small boy do?

Gene, please don't fall off that ladder anymore.  Too many folks our age fall and break hips.  It is not good and I don't recall anyone ever making a full recovery.

John, I'll do my dead level best! No alcohol allowed in the shop so, I can't blame that. But I left the door open a crack and stupidity and clumsiness snuck in.

Thanks, Cal. No pains today. Started at day break and, loaded moved and, un loaded 2 PU beds full of plywood and 2 bys that were laying in the shop...in the way. Moved a load of routers, saws, a planer and other stuff...also in the way... from the shop floor to an outside covered area in order to make room for insulation ladders and wall construction. Now, it's close to lunch time. Then, it's off to a metal sales place to meet my son who will be fabricating hand rails for some steps we built from the house to the patio. Other than tired and hungry, I'm fine as a fiddle.

YIKES @Gene Howesounds like you were getting up on the roof... If gutters were the problem Id highly recommend the leaf guard gutters.  Expensive as crap yes.  I've never once had to climb up on my roof thankfully.  Aside that ladders are dangerous objects.  Cant walk under them with out having a stroke of bad luck and if you fall off them you wind up with a heap of medical bills.

Tried my hand at a bandsawn box from some wood in the wood pile.  I tried to make the sides 3/8" and by the time I got rounded over edges and sanded, I think 1/2" would have worked better.  Also, my bandsaw blade didn't like the 5/16" radius, so wider curves next time.  Had a few tries to get a pull handle that didn't overwhelm the box.  Needs a bit more finish and it's ready to go.

Nice work!

Keith, it kinda reminds me of an old radio that was a table top radio.  Really nice job.  What's the finish?

My weekend agenda is to continue replacing mortar of those cracked sections that I chipped out a couple of weeks ago.  What I have done so far looks very good.  It's hard to believe that this is the first time I have done it.

Also, new Shopsmith combination blade arrived today.  I've never had a new blade, always used and sharpened.  So, this will get introduced tomorrow.  Some clean up from tree limbs dropped by the storms.  We had winds in excess of 66 mph.  The grandchildren will be here on Sunday so I'll be cooking for them as well.  Hope to get a good night's sleep tonight.  LOL

Saw another video today with some variations.

Rather than one loop to saw out the drawer, he cut the sides, top and bottom first, with a little 'bump' in each.  Then glued back together.   The 'bump' kept them aligned.  The inside corners were more square than radiused.

Then front and back of drawer, while the "carcass" dried.

Then glued on the back piece and cut the outside profile  of the whole box.

Because of four saw kerfs instead of one, he had to do a lot of sanding, relatively speaking, on the outside of the drawer to get it to fit into the opening.

Never saw that way before.

.40  I didn't want to drag up an old thread, but I'm finished with my table. I would normally recycle that magazine but if you want I can mail it to you. Bear in mind, it's not exactly a complete set of plans but you can fake it like I did. Anyway, if you want it PM me a mailing address.
