April 3, 20215 yr Popular Post Update on the shed...not much I can do by myself...arms too short...but... Starter strips at each corner...Visegrips help hold metal parts in place.. Was a decent enough day, for once... About 2 hours of working from this torture devise....calves were crampy.. Have 6 full size panels to install, 3 per side...arms might be too short...getting windy, today....may wait a day, or two...Bolts for "stitch screws", may just get changed to screws instead....Need to find a couple 1/8" drill bits ( always seem to break them...)Waiting on the March wind to ...go away.

April 5, 20215 yr Popular Post Roof is done... Which leaves just 2 doors to build... Almost 3 hours working off of this torture device... Calves are "barking" LOUDLY....toes were getting crampy....leave them doors for another day...
April 5, 20215 yr Popular Post You are making wonderful progress and it looks good and sturdy. Do you have any need to tie it down to the ground to ensure it doesn't roll off with the wind? It used to be code here, when I had one of these, that it had to have hurricane/tornado straps and be anchored to screw anchors. Some of them still blew away. I don't see any in my neighborhood anymore.

April 5, 20215 yr Popular Post Doors are done... Arrow did not send enough parts, though.. Those 2 black parts at the edge? Door #2 only got 1, could NOT find the second one....they guide the bottom of the door in a track....not much of a BFD...as they hang from guides at the top... Had a storm come through.. Just after I got everything put away...."Punch List" scheduled for tomorrow....
April 6, 20215 yr Popular Post Doors are now adjusted to be gap-free. . I had other plans for that 2x 6.... WorkMate got a new top...needed a trim, though.. My Cordless saw...Disston D-112... Looks a bit better The old top? Was burning trash today, anyway...figured it fit that description.... 77 degrees outside, today....cleared of the Patio, as well.. Trash, old tarps, and the broken metal parts of the Gazebo...Scrap metal, meet my Little Friend Didn't even have to change the blade....ot too bad...for one day? Stay tuned

April 7, 20215 yr Popular Post Metal shed looks great, Steven. Mowed, trimmed and edged 2 yard on Monday and this morning. Trimmed azalea bushes. Trimmed some scrub shubbery and took it to the curb for the trash to pick up tomorrow. Mudding the chipped out mortar tomorrow. Need to wet the blocks so they won't absorb all the moisture from the replaced mortar. Then it rains on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That will be time for domesticated engineering. Part of that is already completed. Most of the laundry done today. LOL
April 7, 20215 yr Popular Post Been sealing "cracks and gaps" in the metal shop building with Great Stuff Pro. Turn off the lights inside and, anywhere the sun shines in gets filled. Can't have the insulation get all soggy when/if it ever rains. I'll be using the plastic encapsulated insulation but, still.... Have used 6 ea. 20 oz. cans, so far. Most of the gaps are where the wall's profile meet the ceiling profile and, that's over 10' up. Lots of ladder time. My 80 year old ankles and calves are protesting. But, it should be done today. Then, we wait for the metal to patch the dog holes and, finally(!), insulation and.... more ladder work.
