Spent 5.5 hours today organizing, building platforms and shelving furniture and set pieces.   Before, you could barely walk thru after we got hand-me-downs from a theater company that was closing.   Also got three giant boxes (visible stacked on left side of photo) of tools and hardware.

 

However the building that we're in is likely to be sold in the next two years, so do it all over again.   This does not show the thousands of costumers and props.

Been taking the day off, today.....just a lazy old day....too nasty outside to even stick me nose out the door...

 

Maybe tomorrow, I can try to get a wee bit of work done....still have just over $21 on that Lowes card...Hmmmm...

Completely redoing all cabinet and drawers in the kitchen. And a 100% redo make of master bath. Changing where tub and showers are. Two pockets doors new cabinets and of course heated floor. Due to my job 95% will be contracted out but still have to move everything out to get things done.

 

One good thing is I will recycle a lot of the drawers from the kitchen into my new work bench.

That's a great looking workbench Kevin, but don't know how you keep anything on it.  Reverse gravitational field in your shop?

 

If most of your remodel is being contracted out, you may already have the plan in place.  In our master bath I also ripped out the corner shower and a huge whirlpool tub.  Replaced with one large shower - no more tub.  Likely the best, or second best mod in the whole house.  A couple other items in the MB - installed a fart fan sized for the room and moved it closer to the shower location, and put a timer switch on it.  A real nice feature that keeps the fan going after the shower is done and don't have to think about going back after a few minutes to shut it off.  Also in the MB, since we were gutting it, I installed plywood or osb between the studs on the toilet enclosure walls.  If ever we want or need to install grab bars, it will be easily accomplished with no searching for studs.

Something I wish we had done in the MB - there was a small window centered over the tub.  When that was all ripped out and the shower installed the window is now off center on the open wall.  I wish I had just moved the window to recenter it.  Had I known that it wasn't really a big issue (we have vinyl siding) I would have done it.

 

I made new kitchen cabinets and a large island to replace a wall between the kitchen & LR.  A few likes that are working well - almost all base cabinets have drawers, only the sink and one narrower cabinet have the traditional doors.  All drawers (I think) have over-extension slides.  If you have a corner cabinet (we do) that cabinet also got drawers with longer slides.  I did the math and calculated that we actually have more usable space in three long drawers as opposed to a typical lazy susan with two levels.  In the upper corner cabinets I did put in two freestanding lazy susans.  SWMBO says she is still real happy with the cabinet set up.  She also reminds me every so often I promised a corner appliance garage that hasn't materialized yet...

 

A couple things I don't care for in the kitchen.  With a small kitchen we went with the microwave above the range.  Since most of my "cooking" involves the MW with a plastic dome over the plate... every time I open the MW door and remove the plastic dome, condensation drips down on the range.  Keeping the range top clean and looking good is a never ending job.  If I were redoing it, the MW would be a different style and/or in a different location.

The kitchen sink we installed is a double deep sink with a high arc faucet with optical eye that turns it on & off.  It doesn't seem to matter where the setting is, when the water is turned on the initial blast will splash out of the sink.  It's just a source of irritation for me...

 

Don't want to bore you with all of the unasked details, but those are a few highlights/lowlights.
