November 27, 20205 yr Popular Post Happy Thanksgiving to all. I have cooked my last Thanksgiving meal. I tried to follow her recipe but she said it was wrong. I know she has used it for 47 years. So, I chose to ignore her and follow the recipe. It turned out alright. LOL Next year, I will purchase everything ready to heat and eat. Back to the first Thanksgiving, according to the history we were taught in Tennessee schools, Governor Bradford led the little group through a terrible winter. Most of the settlers died. The Indians came and taught the Pilgrims how to plant corn and beans, fish and other hunter gatherer features. As the crops yielded so much food to sustain life for the oncoming winter, they decided to have a feast and celebrate their good fortune and friendship. Sadly, as of 1970, the descendants of this tribe of natives has declared this a day of mourning as the settlers and followers took their lands and lives. :-(

November 25, 20214 yr Happy Thanksgiving. Already been to see my Mother. Took her a dozen donuts, her favorite. Had a nice breakfast with some coffee. I left when my sister and her crew showed up. Had to get home to cook my own turkey.
