Might be a bit though… @Grandpadave52 ...
August 2, 20232 yr I have a 785 that has the word specialty under delta and light lug and sticker on the top wheel cover. Is it a 1936 or 35 ?

First, welcome to The Patriot Woodworker Dave. Always room for one more Dave's. Glad you found us. Looking forward to getting to know you better, what your interests are as well seeing some of your projects. Our resident Delta expert, @Larry Buskirk is currently unavailable. He lives up in Wisconsin and goes to bed with the chickens so he can get up early to milk the cows.I suspect once he has a couple buckets of milk and coffee in the morning he'll have the answer you're looking for. Thanks for your patience. In the mean time, peruse the site and if you have any questions or comments let us know. Edited August 2, 20232 yr by Grandpadave52

First off Welcome to The Patriot Woodworker Dave. Without a photo I'd have to say early 1936, if it has the cast on the upper arm light lug. A photo of the blade guides would also help determine age. August 2, 20232 yr Sorry about all the post its the only way I can get the pics to post. Do I only have a limited amount of bytes per post ?
August 2, 20232 yr @dave.s Does your 785 have the cast on arm light mounting lug like in this photo? 1936-37 model years. Notice the lack of the words "SPECIALTY CO." that are cast into the lower frame section just to the upper right of the drive pulley that are in the second photo. Or does it use the bracket like in this photo to mount the light? The guides in your photos were used from 1933-37.
August 2, 20232 yr @dave.s...nice looking restoration. @lew, any suggestions or thoughts to Dave's questions above on picture posting issues. I sometimes have similar when uploading directly from my phone but never an issue when I save to my PC. Also much easier to get orientation correct from PC..

There shouldn't be any problem with the size of your images, and uploading that many at once isn't a problem either for the site. As @Grandpadave52 mentioned, were you using your phone or your computer? As for picture orientation, I use the computer's built in O/S image viewer to set the orientation before uploading
August 2, 20232 yr 6 hours ago, dave.s said: It has the lug and the word specialty @dave.s That is the accessory lamp mounting bracket that was used for the 1931-35 vintage saws. You've got the hex shaft upside down. the bolt attaches the blade guide. Your saw would be a 1933-35 model.
August 3, 20232 yr First, thanks everyone for the compliments and advice. Thanks Larry for taking the time to help me . The hex shaft is correct, its sticking up just enough to look like the top of the bolt . One more question, the blade guide , the piece that bolts to the hex shaft is broken. Any idea where I can get a new one or would welding it back together be ok . I can't imagine there being too much pressure on it .

Any idea where I can get a new one or would welding it back together be ok . I can't imagine there being too much pressure on it . Those have been unavailable for years. I've been looking for an original lower for mine for years. The casting is made of Zamac (Zinc, Aluminum, Magnesium, and Copper alloy) The guides from the later Homecraft "Gumby" band saws are the easiest to adapt to the 785. Here's an upper listed on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/305047610232?epid=4060739109&hash=item4706412378:g:UNUAAOSwCKBkxV6L&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwEVdmWdPfyco0i1jTk%2FoPFXNP8D6MQF5M0RxDNEEmi8YhIzaTaKfLpyqwGQDERRx6oMSqp%2F71DstnmE7ivNLAX40fyQ%2FjfhzX9cl9B99yz4OyfVVxaonkIwWuL4knEwvjXQKrbcFQ%2BEonkAzBJFzilsFpsrCdex6%2FoVxYeiNd3zlP%2F%2BFIDZa3SUhb%2FLoOFUrCq68137ltfpZ6uF6xsRMuXb6WNxj3s43xzqvC5tcDu7QKhLRQEovaiXJjMy1uJ6Z6Q%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR76Kwb63Yg And a lower. https://www.ebay.com/itm/295846939184?hash=item44e1da0a30:g:uroAAOSwpBxkxV4Z&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4JL5aj%2FOCBwyADKkKCZP6U%2B3%2FQvlG%2FuSL2jlpgrnJB6j3Tf759wGQRfNxUplxtfYQzYN5AkbYFOodHTGSFVQ%2BVjbzw6Re0C%2BpncIL%2BruZgKOhzwTWWZfKIFVUZ3zLuwIYLPdf4Sgvl3ufG1ox1pGYXW1VTRyz35ITz6sZtuY8ljUbsDPT%2BkrpnILg6hhWsrD4pTvgDg2PprxP13FOQ7Src70ujmJHtxveOe3ivA7U9LCac4xzKb6CmTtz5junmfwpbaMZSpkeVKlYlKpSkwB3KCShu4d%2BqRnHcwDdiuOf2Of|tkp%3ABk9SR8CKwb63Yg Hope you can forgive the ways I'm having to post things, I'm still trying to get used to doing things on this Windows 11 computer. Have to do quite a few things differently than with Windows 10.
August 3, 20232 yr @dave.s If you look at the blade guide in this photo it's actually one of the Homecraft guides.

Can't say I offered up much help or advice, but at least I know the guy that could. Larry's awesome when it comes to old Delta 'arn and even more so sharing what he knows and has learned. Several of us here who have passion for old tools. A number of my now "vintage" tools I bought new.
