Shop time yesterday was a bust. Two Skype sessions and two other phone calls from my gabby sisters. Not to mention a nap. Back at it today, though....barring unforseen interruptions. Got at least a day's worth of planing to do. Just to get every thing flat. Another day to bring them to thickness. Free walnut is good. Dealing with twists and warps is a royal PITA

Week of meetings for me.  City Council, Property Standards Board, etc. I’m currently in the drawing stages of 6’ x 3’ kitchen island for a client.  She’s found all of these “lovely” ideas from Pinterest that I have to incorporate.  She better have a healthy checkbook.  Also, this is the week that we make the decision to go to a Hawaii or pull the plug again.  The Hawaiian governor has made it nearly impossible to get in.

Spent the weekend cruising the country side in the Jeep with the top down. Went up into Tennessee and then came back down the Natchez Trace parkway. Saw a few Deer, Turkeys (some driving) and some beautiful scenery.

Hello Ron. If you read the Hawai'ian newspapers, especially thegardenisland.com, Kaua'i's paper, you will see they are very concerned about containing the virus by limiting inbound tourists. Hawai'i  does not have a robust health care system. Tourism is both a boon and a curse, and most Native Hawai'ians want to get back to the more peaceful way of life. 'O'ahu might be a better place to go.

Just waiting on some items to be delivered bowl blanks from Rockler which I plan on making a bowl or two.  As well as some other packages on the way for the lathe especially a set of cole big jaws for the chuck and a jacobs chuck which will be delivered today.  So some much needed items in the works and on the way.  Also got the extension on the lathe set up the other day and paste wax on the extension this morning.  Just relaxing doing a bit of PC gaming for the time being while I wait for my orders to come in.

Working around the HHH weather, forecast calls for 90's through Thursday with humidity in the 60% range, and dewpoints in the high 60°-low 70° range.

Have so far managed to wire wheel the rust off of the parts of the bench frame that I'll be redoing.

Once the shade goes away...I'm done. :Hot:

Another exciting Monday for me.   Spent most of the morning  getting annual head to toe check by my dermatologist.   Once she finished with me i had a couple of errands to do and then had to hop online to view my one daughters Dissertation Defense....working on her PhD. :Praise:  Like her mom...way smarter than me.  :JawDrop:

Hope to get the last of the tenons turned off the bowls I have almost ready. Then it will be finish city , well maybe , just depends on how much distracts me.

Over the years we have had to have trees removed. We've always called the same local guys. They are dependable and reasonable. Saturday they dropped by and dropped these. Pays to make friends with the tree guys-

Got the Jet jointer up and running.  The homemade knife alignment jig seemed to do a fine job - and cheap!

Put the skin and stile on the end panels for the murphy bed.  That wasn't called for in the instructions, but I wanted to try stiffen up the plywood.  Some priming/painting on the last parts, them it's time to put it in place.

Just got my jacobs chuck for the lathe and it is indeed an MT2 tapper.  Fits like a dream.  So the tail stock of the lathe should be set.  Now just hurry up and wait for the big jaws to get here.

Saturday was phone calls contacting family and friends to see how everyone is especially with this virus.  I haven't heard from my sister, so I don't know about her.  Turned all 17 pens yesterday, sanded every piece today, made a jig for 10 pens to apply poly, got the first application of poly on.  Went to the doctor this morning and everything is doing well.  All labs were fine, didn't get my flu shot so I hope to get in line next year.  Received pen containers this morning from Rockler.  In a couple days, they will be finished, assembled, packed and shipped.  Starting repair on neighbor's rocking chair.  Keep your fingers crossed.  :cowboy:

I have a busy week lined up.  Over the weekend we got the MBR/office cleaned out with a desk & credenza still in place - but listed on marketplace.  A few nibbles, but no sale yet.  It will get cheaper by the day...  Yesterday I took down the ceiling lights and fan and stripped all the popcorn off... my back is screaming at me this morning.  Today I will be back on the ladder to wash off the ceiling and apply a bit of mud where the putty knife dug into the sheetrock.

Wednesday AM is a follow up appt with the back doc to report on how the shot last month has done.  For a couple of weeks after the shot I thought there was some improvement, but I really cannot tell.  Also Wednesday, some moulding I ordered is to be delivered.  I needed some of it to stay in 16' sticks and we have been getting a good bit of rain.  For a few bucks the building supply will deliver it by box van tomorrow.  Then it will be on to painting - primer to the MBR ceiling and paint to all this moulding.  There is also a sheet of plywood coming tomorrow for me to make some simple moulding for the MBR ceiling.  Most of the moulding coming is chair rail for the living room/dining area walls & ceiling.  Almost the whole downstairs is tore up/piled up with furniture/stuff that has been moved around to accommodate this ongoing work.  If all the painting goes according to plan, things in the LR/DR should begin to shape up next week.

Oh yes, it has been raining!  The yard looks close to a hay field now.  I will have to cut & bag it when it dries off enough to do.  Up to now I have been able to keep up with it and not had to bag it.  So, that will be an all day job when that day comes.

Managed to get most of the "hayfield" mowed this morning before the "Mugglies" started to kick in. Possible rain this afternoon. Working on layout for machine bench incorporating a few drawers etc. into the design for tooling storage.
