May 13, 20206 yr Popular Post Keith when you were doing this did you have to submit photos to get paid? Did you ever see that the manufacturer took note of weak spots reported and redesigned that part?

Did you ever see that the manufacturer took note of weak spots reported and redesigned that part? Yes, when I was doing work at a home and getting paid by someone else. Most often this was a service company (warranty, separate coverage plan, retailer, moving company, etc.) It gave them some information in case the consumer made a complaint, or if there was ever a question about if the claim would be denied. I doubt the manufacturer ever heard (or if they did, if they cared).
May 13, 20206 yr Author Too cheap by half. This damage was on a moving claim. The consumer bought a new refrigerator BEFORE MOVING because he would save 1% on the sales tax in the origin state. And his employer was paying for the move. So he saved maybe $8-10, cost the company $100, and he ended up with a dented door. So it cost the moving company several hundred to repair or make an allowance.
May 13, 20206 yr Author Popular Post Oh, look, the wood must have shrunk. How did that happen??? Another common problem.
May 15, 20206 yr Author Frame for the top back of a sofa. Would you believe this cracked and collapsed? I file this under my file, "That piece of wood should have been tossed in the scrap pile." Edited May 15, 20206 yr by kmealy
May 15, 20206 yr Author Popular Post repair attempted by the moving men (decorative wall plate). At least they did not use Gorilla Glue ? Or did they? So close, but my job is safe.

May 16, 20206 yr Author Popular Post Bad dog! Before and after. I think this one one of my three trips there -- dresser, bed, and stair railings.

Makes it easy to replace or fit to customer's need rather than having the top go up and be part of the frame. By the looks of it, the two screws there also held it in place.

I don't know about the screws but definitely more staples.
