May 13, 20206 yr Author Popular Post Lid came out of the clamps, today. Squared up, sanded smooth.....then the "topper" was sized to fit....and glued in place... If you are looking for the box with the plane inside...you'll have to flip this mess over... making sure the box does indeed fit....need to trim the cover down a bit... About the thickness of a pencil. So...when the glue dries, I'll buzz a little off the top....er..bottom, and then draw a label for the end... Next plane? Stanley No. 9-1/2. line is pointing to the new pin...I had to make, as the old pin was long gone. Making sure it fits, this time. I also resawed a batch of Pine.. So I'll have enough for the next lid, too... No, no blood was spilled. Red Paint to show WHERE a spinning blade is....set up for 1/4" thickness. MRI on the knee this morning....was NOT fun....had to redo it....knee will not keep still. X-rays on the right elbow? Plunked the sorest part of the elbow down onto the film cartridge...OW. Sitting here, taking things easy....and trying to find just the right spots to sit both sore spots...
May 13, 20206 yr Popular Post Looking good but maybe take a break, get some rest??? Okay if not that then give me some time to get my own projects further along?
May 13, 20206 yr Author Hmmmm....ya think? Bump shouldn't be there... Nor all of this....lumpiness.... Not a pretty sight.... have to drive over to Columbus, OH friday...to get my Mil. I.D.s renewed....That MIGHT be "fun"....
May 14, 20206 yr Author Results of today's tests? Possible tear in shoulder A fracture in the elbow There is a pocket of fluid/blood in the knee Partial tear Meniscus..... I just don't bounce like I use to.....getting referred to an Ortho-Doc....
May 14, 20206 yr Author Popular Post Contrary to popular rumours....NO, I wasn't chewing gum at the time.... Ok, sanded and trimmed the lid....checked for fit.. Marked so I will know what is IN the box...will be trying a paper label, later...lift the lid.. And set it aside.. Debating on a stain before, or, after the label,,,, Will either have the printer do this (better, I hope) or have the Grandaughter Artist draw them up. Sharpie was supposed to be a FINE tip.....will try a regular ink pen....on paper. Stay tuned...

May 16, 20206 yr Author Popular Post Like this? Not the best.... Will just have to do. Had to trim a bit off the bottom of the lid, how much? Oh...about that much. IF I am allowed... These 2 block planes will be next.....might have so work for the #3 to do. Stay tuned...
May 18, 20206 yr Author Popular Post Well, inner box #2 has all it's corners done.....and the the Clamp Borg showed up "Resistance is futile.." There IS a box in there....somewhere. Looks like it could just walk away.. Knee met up with a LONG needle, this morning.....Doctor drained it out....rest of the bumps and bruises will be left to heal themselves. Bloodthinners ain't helping the knee all that much.....either. Getting old ain't for sissies... Depending on how I am feeling this Monday...I MIGHT try to remove all them clamps....we'll see. Stay tuned..

May 21, 20206 yr Author Box #2 needed a lid/cover,so Do a bit of sawing, and a bit of chopping.....that chisel, is from an old Handy Andy tool set. Working my way around. Got to about here...when I had to take the boss shopping...and pay a couple bills, too Joints WERE looking good....corner #3 had.....issues Seems the end piece(the short sides) got flipped over while being marked....bass-ackwards fingers Had to remake the end from scratch Once that was done, and things did fit together..somewhat....time for the glue & clamp routine... The caul is there...because I also installed the topper...after cutting, sanding and planing it to just a slip fit.. Getting all 4 corners of the topper to sit in their places.....was a bit like herding cats....3 would go in, one would come back out....Glue was getting a bit"sticky", that helped out a bit....Caul was more to keep the sides from bowing inwards, and keep the clamp from sliding around ( must have been talking with the "cats") Letting this mess sit a while....maybe after Lunch, I can remove the clamps? Stay tuned....
