February 18, 20206 yr Popular Post It's been awhile since we asked, but is everyone ok here? Are you all happy with our digs? Is there anything you'd like to see more of? Is there anything you'd like to see less of? Are you comfortable here? Are there any features that are missing here that you like about other forums? Thanks folks!

If the foreman was being nice you could almost always depend on getting your lay-off notice just before the end of shift on Friday.
February 18, 20206 yr Popular Post Couldn't be happier John. I was called to the personnel office years before my retirement. They told me I seemed unhappy. Told them I was very happy, but when I saw something happening I didn't like, I made it a point to let them know about it. They not only let me stay, but in my last years I asked to have my hours cut to 4 days a week. They not only said yes, but they continued to give me full benefits, paid holidays, vacations health ins. and salary increases. It probably helped that I was good at my job and helped to train several of their new welding hires. Most had no previous experience welding aluminum and 95% of our work was aluminum welding. Never been called to the office here.

February 19, 20206 yr Popular Post There is much in life I would li9ke to change right now. TPW is NOT any of it. This is kinda how i deal with the other crap. I like the people here, the atmosphere here, the subject matter here, the leadership here. If I had any bone to pick, it would be on how seldom the TPW jet travels to New England. There are like 4 of us here!

February 19, 20206 yr Popular Post I recently "unfollowed" a facebook group on woodworking. It seemed like most of the posts fell into three categories 1. What wood is this? 2. I found this power tool on {Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace}, is it a good deal? 3. Thanks for the add. Despite the love/hatred for {Craftsman, Festool, Corded/battery} tools, the discussion was enjoyed, all is good. On a lighter note, February and March is making season for skunks here in Ohio. Males will travel several miles in search of a female. They are likely to be found in your yard or crossing the road at night. We have a lot of skunks here.
February 19, 20206 yr Popular Post As some others have so well said, I love it here. Great people, great humor, a wide variety of projects and shop tools. Also, there is a lot of support when you post something to show what you learned by doing a project. I also like the weekend threads and Lew's Wednesday threads. I wish I had more time to spend here. I have really enjoyed learning things I never thought of or seen before. I do browse Shopsmith forums, but no comments there. I prefer a positive place.
