August 15, 20205 yr Popular Post Good people, lots of expert knowledge freely shared, no egos, my favorite online site. Place has a great sense of humor, and is managed by good people doing good. Biggest complaint I have is that Gunny seems to get more rides on the jet than I do (Tag, Gunny. Take it and run with it)
August 15, 20205 yr Popular Post I've been spending at least a couple hours daily in the shop. Some more, some less. Not much else to do.

We've had fires all around us, all summer thus far, but we would never be in any danger, we are in a cookie cutter suburban area, asphalt streets, concrete roof shingles, and stucco walls. Not much to catch on fire. But we are surrounded by mountains and they are dry, and that is where most of the fires are, any given day I can look around the horizon and see smoke, last couple weeks we had some real zingers, no fatalities thank God, but a whole lot of forest burnt down. Truthfully, the forest is due for a big burning, it's overgrown, mis-managed, and whenever it does catch fire we put it out, we should let it go, controlled, and let it burn, in return we'll get a healthier forest. Thanks for asking Steven, appreciate it greatly!

August 16, 20205 yr Popular Post No complaints here. I try to check in daily and appreciate the camaraderie.
August 21, 20205 yr Author Popular Post Thank you all for being here, this is huge for me on a personal level, that fact that you feel like coming back day after day, makes me humble, and proud at the same time, we actually created something here that people like? It's pretty awesome.
August 21, 20205 yr @John Morris Is a Shop Smith forum section in the works? I've been seeing a lot of posts about those lately... Otherwise forums are good here. I've seen a lot of forums just flop on end and have a lot of drama issues on them. This forum site so far is the only one that I have yet seen any of that.

No drama queens here! Just good camaraderie among us afflicted with man glitter. AKA, sawdust. John runs a tight ship.

Hey Andrew, yes on the Shopsmith Forum, and we been live for 10 years! We ain't goin nowhere!
August 21, 20205 yr Also John might want to add in another one as well for those of us that do do youtube videos. Should be a section on that as well for anyone that would be or would want to be doing those youtube videos and or have questions about it not necessarily a free for all subject but wood related / technical related. Since there are probably more than a handful of us on here that do youtube and I've just started so that would probably be a good addition as well. Not a huge section would be needed for that.
August 21, 20205 yr Popular Post John, some time back you made this proposal to have a Shopsmith thread and I voiced my opposition to it. Now, I have changed my mind. Is that allowed? LOL My opposition was that everything Shopsmith related would be stuck off in a little covey and not seen. But, I now think it may be a good idea to have all the uniqueness in one area so that is someone is looking for a particular setup or operation it could be easily found there. It could get a little dicey if everyone wanted a forum for say, Wen, Oneway, Ryobi, Milwaukee, etc. But, this machine is so versatile in some ways that there are some unconventional setups and procedures that maybe it would be a quick and handy reference. I have been posting a few things because it is different and a few on here do have those machines. So, I was sharing what I have learned and experienced so others could benefit. Even if you do develop a folder for Shopsmith, I will continue to post mainstream so all can see what can be done with this amazing machine. In other words, it doesn't matter much to me anymore. :-)

But I'm not sure how many members actually do youtube so that could be rough doing all of the links for each youtube channel itself.... Could get tricky.

Or rotation feature. But seriously I bet it's just a handful of you guys.
