Well...I did have 2 projects on the schedule, last Friday.....but....

That was before I was given a "lift" by the Huber Heights, OH EMS squad...We had gone to the town to pick up my grandson.   Stopped at the Walmart on the way back home....wasn't feeling all that good...waddled into the store, sat down at the BP machine, and got my Blood Pressure checked....210/107?  :JawDrop:  Asked the pharmacist about it...we did a second test..was even higher....called my LNP Daughter about it...in about 10 minutes, she was there, along with the Squad...:SaluteandRun:..Then I spent the Friday night in the ER, before I was kept for Observation overnight....they finally got the bp down to 130/70 range, and let me go home....

Calling my Cardio Doctor Monday morning, and see what he says.....right now, I am too tired to do a whole lot.

Projects?   Well, Gene Howe knows about the one I will be doing....the other Project? :ChinScratch:   Seems I still have a 1 x 6 x 8-1/2' Ash plank.   There are a few decent scraps in the shop, as well.....I was going to see IF a small Shaker End Table could be built using that amount of "leftovers".   Maybe a 15" x 15" square top?   Might even sneak a drawer in?   Legs?   Those MIGHT be glue-ups...1-1/2 x 1-1/2" squares...then tapered.   maybe try out the new handsaws?  May have to buy one more "stick" of Ash....we'll see....depends on other things, right now :ChinScratch:

Stay tuned......:cowboy:

Spent about an hour in the shop, this morning....panel for the table's top is out of the clamps,  planed and sanded... This is going to be the underside..there is a bit of a chip-out....

  • Nice work, but I suspect longer than 1 hour.     On another note I was speaking with a customer about using a hand plane and my struggle with the pins in my wrist and arm not liking it.  See

Take it easy. I have been having to stay out of the shop because of health. Takes the fun out of it..

Steve, you might want to put yourself further down the list. Better yet, just remove yourself from the list. As Lew says take care of #1 first.

Agree with the above advice, without your health you won't be doing much of anything. Hoping the cardio guy gets this ironed out.

Take some time off.  That ash will wait.  We will wait too...

Good to have a knowledgeable family member on staff to keep you in check!

Steve, take care of yourself. Now may be a good time to enjoy some R&R and catch up on some of those DVD's.

1145hrs, Wednesday....will find out more at that time.....still feel like I have been hit by a truck...

Well...off to Youtube land....

Will keep you all updated...

Time for the body to get some rest, but the mind can stay involved/busy. Hope things get figgered out quickly.

Steven, I am so late and sorry to read this.  Your event is scary.  BTDT.  Like others have said, taking care of yourself is priority #1.  I hope you get well and can get back into your shop.  I need to see more pictures of those hand planes.

You never seem to have time for a bit of R&R. Now would be a good time. For now, think about mending yourself. The wood won't move, so let it rest too. Don't wan't you back in the shop until the doc say's it's OK.

Last night, that "feeling" came back, rechecked the bp...244/125.....off to the local ER....poked, prodded, scanned...and meds....they think that my current BP Meds  have become out-dated...so, they added two other meds....137/70 when I finally got out of there, this afternoon.    Still have that appointment tomorrow with the Cardio Doctor I usually see.....

About all I am going to do this week..drop off a couple of dull handsaws, and pick up a freshly sharpened one.....then a nap or three...I'm plumb tuckered out.....you can not go to a Hospital, and expect to get a good night's sleep....they just won't let ya.....

Steve, take care of yourself first. Good to see that you aren't shy about the ER, some of us are to tough for our own good.

Boy aint that the truth, the Hospital is no place to recover!

Steve, I hope they get your meds squared away, and most importantly the doc appt reveals answers, please take it easy, and just rest. Time to turn on Andy Griffith! :)

Yea, just about the time you fall asleep they come wake you up to give you a sleeping pill. ...

Fantastic news, Steve! It's wonderful that the BP was able to be controlled with just a change in dosages.

Great news indeed!

Steve, Find yourself a good book to read. I've found this can fill a lot of otherwise boring time when you can't do the things you would normally be doing.
