just last week, i carefully glued up some wood to make a recipe box for my wife.  had the length measured, with some excess, so i could cut the sides and have the grain chase around the corners.  then time to cut the sides in sequence.  first three went great...uh oh, last piece looks a little short.  re-measure....crap.  set the fence wrong, every piece was too long.  had to start over from scratch.

this was the result of attempt #2.

even this piece has a few mistakes, but it's going to have to do.

Wormy Maple, AKA Ambrosia Maple, from the Ambrosia Beetle that infests the trees and causes the stained wood.  if you look closely, you can see the little round holes where they had bored thru.

That is absolutely gorgeous DAB...should get you a few extra points.

What finish are planning to apply?

Good Job,Dab, Love that Maple.

Dab, that's excellent work. I made a j-box using wormy maple. I used BLO and shellac t finish it.

oh, yeah, those.  those are made out of walnut.  7/64" thick (because my TS blade cuts a kerf that is 7/64" wide, and i didn't feel like changing blades, so i used my Incra fence adjustment to cut 7/64" thick Spline stock.).
