Those voices are often heard in the shop. But, I have to go in the house for intelligent conversations.

My recent qualification as an Old Fogey in the Ancient Order of Fossilhood requires that I work slower. :OldManSmiley:

The AOF is the husbands equivalent of the wives group, the Association of Old Fluffettes! Hubbies progress to Old Geezers while wifeys move on to Old Hens.

  • C'mon guys. Age is just a number. Like, like how many aches and pains, how often ya get up to pee, how much ya forgot to do....etc.:OldManSmiley:

Yeah, I know. I'm 27071 days old today! Aches and pains have merged in a continuum not requiring counting, night-time peeing is a given, and memory is, welll.....I forget!:ChinScratch:

Well, a very happy birthday, Hat.

Thanks, Gene, but its not my BD. When I get up in the AM, I check the obit column, and if I'm not listed there, I know it will be a good day. Then I check my age in days and thank my lucky stars I have made it this far! :Hot:

Well then, happy 27071st day. I'm at 28429. Don't get a daily paper. If there's no flames, I'm good.

Gene, I like to play with time numbers. When I was working, I built a retirement spreadsheet that calculated how many years, months, weeks, day, hours, minutes, and seconds I had left when I entered the current workday, correcting for holidays, weekends, and days off. Did the same thing manually, counting only days to discharge, when I was in the Army. It was a humorous way to keep positive. Have you ever seen one of those pictures of a beautiful woman with a calendar imprinted over her entire body? Yeah, that.

well, now that we are doing math....

2018-1963 = 55 years.

55 x 365 = 20075 days.

but don't forget the leap years (1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016 - that's 13 more days)

20075+13+ (number of days from april 28, 2018 to today = 281) = 20369

oddly, this answer is different from that given by this website:  https://www.timeanddate.com/date/durationresult.html?m1=4&d1=28&y1=1963&m2=2&d2=2&y2=2019&ti=on  which gives 20370 as the correct answer.

did they count 2000 as a leap year?  it wasn't!

Like Hat when I get up , after contemplating the idea for a while , thank the Lord for another day on this earth (pitiful tho it is). Then after the shower I feel like I can move around a little. The really hard part is getting up from the floor when something falls , happens more every day. Oh not me falling ....dropping something .

Need to change your routine...don't read the obits until the end of the day...if your name is there you still had the extra day. So far it's working for me.:P
