how about the DC pick up through the back of the box???

Still using it, just have to run a pipe up to the bottom of the baffle plate.  Ran out of time for this evenings work.

Baby steps forward.  Began finishing some of the parts, as well as taking a mock up for DC and getting started with cutting to fit the final pieces.  Made a run to the borg for a few items and came back and did some finishing work.  Get off at 1600 tomorrow so more shop time than normal.

Cool build...enjoying the progression.

Thanks, I have appreciated the input and encouragement.

This evening I have completed testing and made the final parts for DC inside the cabinet.  Then tested for operation.  Impressive results.  Piled up sawdust and chips on the top of the table and turned on DC.  Observed how much go sucked up.  Then tried to jam all of it at once and see what it could take.  Didn't even bother it, and the router was running.  Inspected the cabinet after this test and found no chips and a small amount of dust in the corners.  The angled baffle plate channels the dust down to the back and directly into the 2 inch PCV then down and out.  So with the last hurdle overcome I began the finishing process.

Having finished the drawer fronts and door I put them back up as well as the cut out piece above the table itself.  Did not take a picture of the table installed, still deciding on leaving it white Formica or maybe black to blend in some.

Still have yet to decide on a finish / color on the outside of the cabinet.  Inside gets poly, helps with the dust.  Any suggestions?

Call me lazy 'er energy conscientious, I'd leave it white...paint on the Formica will eventually chip. Black will absorb your light too.

By outside, I assume you mean the sides of the drawer? If so, I would think match it to the other drawers or poly IMO. Won't be seen unless you're using the router...rest of the time it will be closed. My $.02

I should have been more precise on what I wanted to change from white to black.  The edge that faces out and comes flush with the door.  That currently is white Formica.  I am thinking maybe remove that edge and go with some black Formica or I have leftover that matches the cabinet top above.

The top I suspect will get modified a few times over time as I expand how much this gets used.

Normally I would agree, and all the other drawers are finished with some golden oak stain and few coats of poly.  BUT, once I put a tool into it worked out all the kinks and such I am thinking needs a step up in the game.  :ChinScratch:  May even put a tool nameplate on it.  Like I did this "Snap On" toolbox that I made to fit on these shelves.

As is still looks fine to me, but if you feel strongly on the change, then my vote would be to match the cabinet top...but hey, I have no artistic vision and tend to be a minimalist conformist.

So cool.  Thanks for that idea.  Sorry, no checks.  No Western Union, either.  LOL

One other thing to consider is to have a spring lock or something to block the drawer from retreating while in use.

Gotcha.  Manual lock on each side, because if one is good two should be better

They have not been in any recent pictures.  Have them hanging on a hook from when I painted them yellow.  No need thus far to install them.  In fact the entire thing is now in pieces waiting on poly to dry.

Took a page from Steven Newman and went "old school" as he might say.  Drew out the square and routed the centers out then came back and cut in with the chisels until I got a perfect fit.  Then did the same all over again on the other side.

They have now been painted with some Bronze colored hammered metal finish paint.  Took a note from Larry Buskirk's recent work.
