Gene, I have a Starrett try square that has the 32nds and 64ths on it, it worked beautifully. Ya sometimes, you gotta get wild and break out the numbered contraptions.

I suppose that there are uses other than for shims. I've yet to find one, though. When my stock of playing cards, veneer and Wilsonart formica samples run out, I still got those dusty old metal rulers that I bought before an old cabinet maker wisened me up. Metal tapes and folding rules are excellent for dragging pencils out from under the bench. Stick a magnet on the end of the metal tapes and, they're great screw picker uppers. I'm not as flexible. :throbbinghead:

Artie, I am under the impression that the Mark7 comes with the upgraded casters. I think.

Dunno whether it came with them or if I bought them (I’m thinking I had to buy them, not positive) I KNOW I had to drill the holes to mount them.

Now, that as a team, we have found a simple solution, I have ordered the new castors.  Can hardly wait to install them and put them into use.  We had better results on this thread than the ones I have read at the SS forums.  Great job, team.

We'll need pictures "Gator":P

 'Ain't this place great?!

Yes, I would love one.  I could turn ball bats and a few other things.  But, since I have two, I can just align them and clamp together, move the head stock on one to to get the desired length.  At least I'm not turning a tree.  I would not dare be in the vicinity of an operation such as this.

That's a heck of a plug for Shopsmith though!
