November 29, 20187 yr Popular Post Y'all are just blowing me a way. I forgot that a few years ago a friend had a pastor ask him to make a box which he does not do so he asked me to. Would be used as offering box for congregation to bring offering to the altar . No locks for this one but it would not be left unattended.
November 30, 20187 yr Author @Gerald I love the way you incorporated the cross into the top of the box!
November 30, 20187 yr @lew Thanks. I actually have a template which has been used on several projects. Edited November 30, 20187 yr by Gerald

Several years ago my brother-in-law had me make something similar for their collection bag storage. Wish mine were designed as nicely as yours. Lew, The church wanted them with flat tops but I encouraged them to let me make them on a slant. The reason for that is that once I started with the prototype that I made out of poplar, it became very clear that they were about "Bee-Hind" height for someone hanging out in the back of the service to set on and maybe doze off and crash or set their Starbuck's cup on it ruining the finish. So they agreed that it was a much better choice than being flat. I went a bit farther by making them a bit taller than the typical "Bee-Hind" level just for safety sakes.
