Thankyou everyone for your lack of support of my ideas, and concern for my health.

@CharlieL,

from what I have seen here the members have a lot of support and concern for their fellow members and personal situations.

You seem to be angry and defensive.  That makes it difficult for people to know how to respond to you.

What you and your wife are going through is truly a tragedy and not fair.  Unfortunately, life is not always fair.  You are angry, and rightfully so, but directing your anger and frustrations toward the members is not the way to go.

The folks here are a really good support group if you just give them the chance.  Or maybe professional counseling is the way to go.

Oh please insult me.

No insults from this quarter. I only wish you a happy day.

Charlie, it would help greatly if you disclosed to the folks here, just what it is your going through. Nobody knows. You are and have been in my prayers.

My apologies. My suggestion was not intended as an insult.

In this topic Page 2, post #34 wasn't enough ? I'm really getting tired of the BS

I'm not, I wish that I could afford to be retired. You have no idea what my wife and I have been going through in the last few years. It's called Cancer, my wife has been in remission, and for me I now have a disability, I lost my voice box, and still fighting the disease. My form of communication now is mainly pen and paper, unless I'm on the computer.

Just read this one Charlie, thank you for your openess.

Charlie,

I had read what you posted on page 2 and can only tell you that I know the uncertainty/frustration/anger that you feel.

I've gone through that damned "C" word with my wife twice, MIL, SIL, Niece, and three very good long time friends.

This is quite a tough subject for anyone to deal with.

I also know from experience that having a negative attitude only makes it harder on yourself and those around you.

Out of curiosity, why is there not a dust collection category in this website ?

Charlie, you are the first to bring it up I think. And I think it's a wonderful idea!

That's a swell idea, Charlie. That topic could turn out to be a fine resource.

Certainly would be helpful.  I just made it up as I went along.  Wasn't until STICK got me thinking about it that I rebuilt the DC unit I had.  During my Router Cabinet build DC was something several offered tips on to improve it.  Made it a better product in my opinion.

I guess it seems that realistically there isn't enough discussion about DC to merit a separate forum, at least that's the way it's been on several of the other boards I visit. I remember that Wood chose to exclude the DC section when after their lat revamp due to lack of threads on the subject. If you consider a DC just another woodwokring machine, it fits pretty well in that section. Even the dedicated DC boards seem to have little traffic (the only one I visit is the CV board). Just an opinion.

You are probably correct, Fred. But, it would be handy to have one place to go for those seeking info.

I agree with Fred.  Not much new when it comes to dust collection, hence a lack of activity.  We'll see what happens.

I think Fred hit it. For a while a good moderator can keep it going . Then as all questions get answered and no newbie comes along to ask the same questions again it dies. It is not like you are building something with the DC so no new projects.

Think of a DC forum more as a resource for those who are just now contemplating a new system or, for us old hands, a better one. There'd be lots of "skinning the cat" discussions, for sure. But, that's how we learn.

Well, John will do as he sees best...but we have plenty of forums here already. Several with very limited traffic. It just seems ungainly to have a separate forum for every conceivable topic. But again, that's just the way I see it.
