Popular Post John Morris Posted February 18, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted February 18, 2017 Plenty of work in the ol Moody shop for sure! You get more done in a weekend than I get done in a year John. Fine looking roof too! I am completely envious of the property space you "Fly Overs" have for your homes. I see many of you are sitting some spacious real estate. Out here in California we get about 10 feet between homes and a 6200sft piece of land we call ours, for most tract housing. If we wanted a home like you have John, with all that wonderful grassy area, we'd pay a huge premium. Our shop, well, chairs, chair parts, and a lot of lathe work. This morning I'll be turning 12 spindles for the rungs, since I am still new at turning this will take me about half the day. Ya'll have a wonderful weekend, oh ya, we are enjoying some wonderful rain too. Gene Howe, LarryS, John Moody and 3 others 6 Quote

Fred, you guys are making me feel well, un-healthy! But if I can count the many miles I walk each week at work up and down rugged terrain and the sides of highways, does that count for exercise? I am walking semi briskly, with a purpose. Fred W. Hargis Jr, HARO50, p_toad and 2 others 5 Quote

Not a bad idea Gramps, I may have to do that, I have always been curious how far my feet travel in a typical week, month. That would be fun. Grandpadave52 and p_toad 2 Quote

My wife wanted a picture for over our bed and actually let me make one that isn't painted and distressed for a change. Also finished up a dresser for my son which turned out pretty good. This weekend I am finally starting to mill all this cherry that is hiding my workbench to get started on a blanket chest. About half of this cherry has nice curl to it so I won't mind the milling process this go round. Also have to finish up a panel sled because my crosscut sled can only handle 18 inches and the chest panels will be 24 inches. Or I could be on the way to the hospital at any point for the birth of my second son any minute now. Wife is at 38 weeks so getting close. Will be a busy weekend either way. Great job on the picture frame and the dresser. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your blanket chest. Congratulations to you and your wife on your second child!! Quote

If I'm on the treadmill, I'll fast walk at about 4.2 MPH for around 45 minutes. Usually, I can cover almost 3 miles including the 5 minute cool down and the incline that I walk at. When Shep was a pup, I used to run about 3 to 5 miles a day so because of that I cannot run on a treadmill. Must be a coordination thing. Since the Y is crazy busy on the weekends, I did 2 miles today. Ran 1/2 mile, walked 1/2 mile/ ran 1/2 mile and walked the last 1/2 as a cool down. I've lost 12 pounds in 3 1/2 weeks and my blood pressure is back where it should be. Now if the glucose tests come back solid in 2 months........ Stick486, HARO50, Chips N Dust and 5 others 8 Quote
Popular Post Fred Wilson Posted February 18, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted February 18, 2017 Planned on having some great shop time this weekend. Plans changed. Son showed up with his 5th wheel and wanted me to help him change out the header over his slide-out. So far, having some great one on one quality time with my 50 year old son. Fred W. Popular Post kmealy Posted February 19, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted February 19, 2017 Went to the furniture bank this morning to mentor volunteers building tables from kits we made. Had 3 ww club members and 5 volunteers. We got about much done as the 3 of us did on Wednesday in a the same or less time. ;-) Well, at least we didn't have any disasters that we had to trash. On the positive side, one of the young men is working with us for his Eagle Scout project. Stick486, HARO50, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 5 others 8 Quote

Yes, the Cincinnati one is much smaller (about 10 years later in its progress). We took a field trip up there a couple of weeks ago. Impressive place. Grandpadave52 and Fred W. Hargis Jr 2 Quote

I had noticed that as well on one episode. I think it was last year he (Phillips) did an episode on the place, the first tie I heard of them. He then took on of there dressers and covered it with wood veneer; he said it would be sold and the proceeds would go to them. Grandpadave52 1 Quote
