When I turn ornaments l usually have some beautiful small pieces leftover. I toss them in a box. After a while I have enough to make these stitch rippers. My wife buys them as shown I pull them out of the plastic handles & push fit them into a pre drilled hole. The wilder & moe colorful they are, the more she likes them. She pays less than $1.50 for them

I made 5 of these shaker oval boxes. They’re #3s and are made from Curley maple. I’ve made about 30 of different sizes before and we’re all cherry, but I wanted to try some maple to see how well it bends...and it was great. Sanded to 220 and still need to add a finish. I think I’ll use some watch danish oil...wait three days and apply some poly. I’m actually going to try and sell these, but not sure how much to ask. I was thinking 20 buck a piece.

My wife does a lot of crocheting, knitting, etc. She keeps her knitting needles and hooks in containers that I make. She loves the exotic woods and wanted a new one that she sized for me that is about 4" high. I found some Purple hart and I'm not sure what the other wood is. I put felt on the bottom of the hole and under the base. She is happy, happy wife, happy life

A few smaller toys.. 6" square for "scale". Pliers on the right are just pot metal castings, with a loose rivet....not even good tweezers This drill bit? At one time, I had a string full of cutters for this thing....all I think I have left is this 13/16" cutter. As for the last item...built by an importer of straight razors... A Mr. H ( Hermann) Boker & Co. of Germany. One half was "pierced" to let the other half through, then they were pinned together... When the jaws are closed up, profile is a hex shape. Tips of the handles have a "finger curve". May just set these aside....

My wife loves the small to tiny vases made of colorful wood. I started one of Yellow Hart and Purple Hart scraps. I didn't get too far before the purple Hart started giving me fits. It kept splintering off and looking ugly. I nearly tossed it a couple of times. I kept at it till I got some thing. I'm not happy with it, but I'll see what it looks like after a second finish is applied. If it looks decent, I'll post a picture. If not .................well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I'll delete this entry....

Image of a small bowl I was working on in 2011. I had just got the last coat of finish on and it had dried, I was going to remove it from the waste block, when........not all went well with that, see image 2 lol
