    Anyone like wooden puzzles

My lovely daughter gave me this flower delivery wagon for my birthday and it only took about a week to put it together. It is mostly wood, 3 ply, plywood. About as hard as anything I have ever assembled. It takes no glue for all the pieces are cnc cut, but I did add a little glue here and there for extra strength. Maybe she is trying to revive some of my little brain which this puzzle did need and I certainly appreciate her a bunch even though both daughters won't let me win any of the games we play when they show up. By the way it has about 180 pieces so the instructions were a have to thingy. The directions came with a watering can but I don't find an oil can for the bicycle chain! And I do have to water the flowers every day but it came with a bucket for that purpose. The flowers were not added in to that 180 count.
  2. Picked up a wild dose of the back door trots. Our Patriot Turners- @keithlong did his first craft show and picked up some additional turning work. Keith is looking for curly Koa. Check out his post and see if you can point him in the right direction! @Ron Altier picked up some cypress from his local thrift store. Ron is our resident ornament maker and this one doesn't disappoint! Check Ron's post for the wonderful comments from our members- @Gerald posted a cart/rack for holding his new Jaho jig. This jig is bigger than I realized and certainly heavy! More pictures and information about the build in Gerald's post- @kreisdorph put his new Rikon lathe through it paces! He tells us about it here- @smitty10101 is working on a bowl from a board. He has some questions about cutting the angles and a few other things. I know some of our turners use this technique, I you can help Smitty out, head on over to his post! In our "Good Monday Morning" forum, @John Morris posted a really amazing turning video. Checkout some of the custom made jigs for applying finish! We've had some entries on or continuing posts of ON/OFF your lathe From ON- @Gerald posted this one Catchup up on all the comments here- And from OFF- @Gerald, @kreisdorph and @lew Head on over to the topic and checkout the comments What’s Coming Up- This was last week but if you missed it, Cindy Drozda posted the video of her "Tool Talk"- https://streamyard.com/watch/CyvKGNCGNujG For The Newbies- A video from Mike Peace on the various types of drive centers- Sam Angelo demonstrates the use of the spindle gouge. Mobile carts

I recently made (2) mobile carts for my shop. They are not complete but are functional. The router cart has a Kreg table, Kreg fence, JessEm Mast-R-II lift, Milwaukee 5625 3-1/2 hp router and a Rockler switch. In the bottom drawer I am housing my Porter Cable 4216 Dovetail jig system. My future plan is to provide additional dust collection and improve storage for router bits and accessories. The 2nd cart supports my Delta 10” Side-kick sliding compound miter saw. The saw has built-in extensions. In the bottom drawer I am housing my sharping equipment. My future plan is to improve the storage functionality. Danl
  5. Stumbled across this on Facebook. I bought a little compressor to drive the Pneumatic nail gun I bought to build the shed I just poured a slab for. I think this is a fabulous idea and I'm going to build one but it needs much much much bigger wheels to be trundled across my redneck rural yard out to the back of my pool every day. A couple of scrap kid's bicycles should provide the needed wheels.
  6. cartmMade this a few weeks ago at work to help the guys organize at work. As you can see it's become a maintenance issue.
  7. Got that grizzly 4 wheel cart they were offering on sale. The sheet metal is so thin that it came with all manner of dings and pointed object dents. Looking at it too hard will dent it. They shorted me 5 bolts. I tossed much of the hardware because it is junk. The washers are inadequate the washers get lost inside the slots making assembly dicey. The lock washers are all junk. They could have made assembly way easier with a few welded on tabs. Instead one gets three layers and 48 finger tight bolts to get the thing squared up. Assembled with all the bolts tightened it is wobbly because the sheet metal is so thin, nearly foil thin. They couldn’t even get their logo labels on straight It’s supposed to take 300 pounds. We will see. Well It was on sale and it is grizzly so one can’t expect much..
  8. I have between 300 & 400 clamps of all descriptions. I'm currently working on a shelving unit with six shelves. Because the span if 48", I added some front and back stiffeners to the shelf*. I discovered that I can only do two and a half shelves at a time because I ran our of 4 to 12" F-clamps. So I had to do an assembly line and pull from a shelf that had been sitting for 30 minutes to the one being worked up.(Yesterday). Today I'm fastening the shelves to the sides. One of the front clamps on each shelf, one on the back along one side only so I didn't get glue that I could not re-position.. Had just enough clamps that would clamp 48 3/4", but 8 of the 12 would not go another inch. So back to the pipe clamps, found six couplers and grabbed some clamps where I could remove the heads and connect two pipes together to make one longer clamp. Got six more this way, only two short, but I'll make do. You can have a lot of clamps, but you might not always have enough of the sizes you need at once. * Beam strength if proportional to the cube of the height. Doubling the width will double the load bearing capacity. Doubling the depth will increase it by a factor of eight.

    The Ukulele Cart is Finished

If you have been following, I have been in the process of building a cart to house and transport 40 ukuleles for my daughter, the music teacher. I built the cart from 3/4" baltic birch cabinet grade plywood and each ukulele has its own storage pod. The neck rail is made from a 1 x 3 pine board and I cut the semi circle for the neck with an oscillating spindle sander. It was a fun project but after about 15 hours of work I was ready to move on to a new project. For the record, I didn't pick out the color.
