New Lebanon Transitional Rocker Front Legs

Two front legs turned and ready for the rung holes. I turned these legs with my Easy Wood tools, a rougher and a finisher and my Laguna Lathe.

I'm having a blast with this thing Lew. It's a different satisfaction with these chairs from the sculpted rockers I was doing, it's more of an instant gratification seeing this chair come together so quickly and each part as well. Once I build a few of these chairs I am confident I can turn these into a weekend project, minus the steam bending and set time of course. But these are really fun.

Hope you've got a big enough front porch for these rockers John...:D Next will be some checker boards to compliment the rockers, a little sweet tea and kick back and relax...:P

Keep the progress coming.

Thank you sir, we do not have a porch, dang it, now I gotta build one of those! Thanks a lot Dave!

I'll have to ask @DAB to build a nice checker board, he builds nice cutting boards, I bet a checker board would be a snap!

made this in 8th grade. that would be about 1977.  still have it.  veneer over plywood.

some day, when time permits, i'll make another one with matching pieces i'll turn on my lathe.  with a storage drawer under the board.

is was a triple project:  chess/checker board, end table, magazine holder (down low).  my own design way back then.  just pine with a walnut stain.
