X2. I have always used a ledger strip when installing wall cabinets. Tough finding a straight 2x4 though.

An alternative is a french cleat.

Seeing all your braces reminds me of a friend who worked in a hospital shop. He said they didn't change the router bit, they just changed the routers.

Set 2 planks underneath...screws at the top of the case..sawhorse was simply sitting there, in the way, of course. Waiting on proper screws for the Piano hinges on the doors.

Stanley No. 7c was used to plane 2 drawers for a better fit. 1st shavings in the New Woodshop, are sitting down on the "floor". Hung up some small c clamps....and 2 hacksaws.

Hung up the Mortise Chisel case, and 2 HUGE drills.

Which means this tub is now emptied out. Miter Trimmer is sitting on the sideboard, for now..

Also, found these 2..

But, I lost their charger long ago. Keyed and keyless chucks....

11 AUG Update:

Yet another shipping tub was opened..to 4 layers of tools...meant I had a few to put away..

Block planes and jacks...along with a Stanley No. 7c and an 8c....

Close these doors, for now...

Need a place to stash the rest..be it marking gauges..

Or, eggbeater drills...

And maybe a few squares? About that overloaded bottom shelf?

Just a few Smoothers, A Stanley No. 4-1/2c, Type 11, and a type Millers Falls No.11, junior jack.. rest are all just #3 and #4 sized planes..

12 AUG Update: LIGHTS!

2 Lights, 4' Single bulb LED Shop lights are now over the shop area...

Old Computer Desk Hutch now has a better job to do....as the top of Tub #3..

Looked like this....so...

Hung a Window Shelf. Between this and the saw til...

A place to hang a few hacksaws...

Need to empty out the rest of the tub...and maybe think about a Stand for this..

Or, simply adapt it to fit in the end vise like the other grinder...?

A can of PB Blaster & some green scrubbing pads will take care of the rust and some 600 sandpaper to a final polish.

There is that old chest, again...the rest got put away, for now....as this area will be needed for the tablesaw..

Drag the scrap cardboard out, recycle center is about a 1/4 mile east of here...can almost just walk over there...

Need to get these tubs either emptied out, or stash away...

As this will be the site of the workbench...

Tornado warnings around here this evening....all we got was a short Frog-Drowner....no wind, no noise, no Light Show...other than the Sirens going off every 10 minutes...LOUDLY.

Have to wait and see what I can get done, Sunday..

Wondering IF I can set the saw up on the back patio...dis-assemble it as I clean it up...and then move it into place piece by cleaned piece?

Yup. I've worked for shops like that. Usually it was those wonderful old PC laminate trimmers - one for each size roundover bit the shop used, another for the hinge mortising bit, etc. If the shop did a lot of table edge profiles it would be bigger routers with the 3-4 most commonly used profile bits.

This arrived about Noon yesterday..

Paid the fellow $40.00

Bent one leg during the load/unload cycle....block was to keep from bending any more..

Fence did lock down nicely..

Then..a few hours later, we went from partly cloudy skies to....( hide yer eyes, Mabel!)

about 3 hours of steady, HEAVY rain....5-6" of it....with about 4" winding up inside the garage.....

The Dungeon Creek had moved outdoors....thanks to a neighbor's blocked driveway culvert....diverting runoff away from the ditch, and down through our front lawn...this patio/porch is about 24" higher than the yard....wet because of the wind blowing in from the west..

Waiting on things to dry out the next few days...stay tuned

Cleaned up the saw..

Figured out it would be a lot easier ( and lighter) to remove the rails, THEN move the saw into it's place in the shop..so..

Front rail....weighs about half of the tablesaw..."H.B."

Rear rail?

Weigh about a third of the front rail...

Saw itself? Stand up on one end, onto a 2 wheeler cart, rope it in place, and roll it into the shop..

Tools needed?

Why so many.....seems that half of the bolts , or bolt holes were stripped....half of the bolts did not match the other half..

And were a collection of MOPAR made bolts.....always way too long.

Shopping trip for a load of 2x lumber to build a power tool bench and replacement hardware to replace all these bolts, nuts, and washers...and a bottle of 3in1 Oil to rub the top of the saw down.

Tablesaw came with an 80 toothed Carbide blade....figured I can have a "Back-up plan" plus, I needed a decent rip blade..

Need to go back out to the shop, and take a couple photos....re-installing them rails, BY MYSELF....involved about an hours work....and a lot of cussing, digging out gravel to help level things...

Have to also cut and fit these..

Into a bench to set the Drill Press and other powered tools on...

Nut to remove to change the saw blades.....needs a wrench...size? 1-5/8".....so

Harbor Freight does NOT sell "Singles" they sell "Sets"....Counting the bottle of 3in1 oil...$70 and change

Hmm, the others might be handy to have around...( Menard's does sell "Singles" @ $29.95 + tax.......)

So..plan today? Open the doors to the Garage, air it out some more...maybe take a few photos, and plan how the bench will look when done ( Hint: that 2x 12 x 6' will be the "TOP")

Heard while a guy worked on a car.

@steven newman I have some bolts from the original fence on my old Craftsman if you want them can sent to you.

Went to Menard's...bought new bolts, nuts and washers...and

Enough to build a bench for the benchtop power tools to sit on...

Got the tablesaw moved into the shop..

Then the fun of re-installing the rails, single-handed...

Dig down a bit helped out, and there was still a look of cussing going on,

And finally got the entire mess to sit fairly close to level, and not wiggle around..

Next item....that set of wrenches?

All were way too BIG, dug around in my old roll-around...

Lookee what I found. put things back together...try the nickel test, passed....tried the saw one more time....Ooops...

Where there is Magic Smoke, sometimes there is fire....so..

Grab out the tools...big file and hammer to remove the pulley..

Then the frame and the cord..

1 bolt was an extra one, because 1 of the 4 frame bolts was MIA...

Spent the rest of the day, in search of a new motor....wound up down in Piqua, OH Home Depot...where they ordered one on-line ( be here this coming Wednesday)

So, to kill a wee bit of time, decided to make a bit of sawdust...

Needed to build a box from a pair of 2 x 6 x 6 planks, add some 1 x 4 pieces..

Cross cut a 2 x 8 x 6' at 36" and rip for leg blanks..

This way, because neither tablesaw is up and running..

Then install 4 legs...

Cross cut 2 pieces of 2 x 6 and add them near the bottom of the legs...

A "Top" made of a 2 x 12 x 6' and a pair of 2 x 8 x 6' was screwed down ...second 2 x 8 was ripped for final width..and places were cleaned up...

where the 6-1/2" saw blade couldn't quite reach...along with a few high spots...

Top is at 38" above the floor. Bench is a little tippy, will cut the last 2 x 6 in half, and make feet out of them....

Not too hateful, for just over an hour of sawdust making.....then an Ice COLD Tonic & Gin....

careful..this stuff packs quite a "kick"...

Hauling the old motor to the scrappers, today....Boss has errands up that way...come back home and build some feet for the Bench....
