John...being retired removes the particular stresses of your work life. Sure there may be new and a different kind of stress with retirement but the career or work life stresses are or will be gone. IMO part of absent mindness is your brain in relaxing mode thus forgetfulness. It will eventually even out.

Just don't forget when you're out in the public not to grab your butt with both hands!! 🤪
