Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted Monday at 05:16 PM Popular Post Report Posted Monday at 05:16 PM I peeled 9# of apples yesterday to make 5 pies....is that counts for anything (clarification: Marie made the pies, I just did the lifting). Today it's a cheesecake....pretty much an all day affair. lew, steven newman, DuckSoup and 4 others 7 Quote

Popular Post kmealy Posted Monday at 07:36 PM Popular Post Report Posted Monday at 07:36 PM Went to the furniture bank this morning. No work done but picked up first of four recycled dorm desks for various grandkids. One for a grandson in Xichigan who's graduating this spring, the other three to furnish a house my daughter's family bought to house their series of kids who will be attending college nearby in the next 10 or so years. Desk needs a bit of deluxing. I know a guy. Grandpadave52, DuckSoup, lew and 4 others 1 6 Quote
Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted Monday at 07:48 PM Popular Post Report Posted Monday at 07:48 PM Got a little more outside work completed which included cleaning and pre-prepping all the raised garden beds. Relocated a few leaves; only 2m cubic feet left to store. Youngest grandsons 6th grade middle school basketball season started a couple weeks ago; they're undefeated so far; game tonight at county seat. Going to daughters for Thanksgiving; Oldest granddaughter will be home for a couple days. My commanding officer is on the grounds tomorrow through Thursday so I expect KP orders will be issued. Shop is closed as the heat exchanger seems to be missing from the sky. It's on backorder with ETA late April. Disclaimer: No donuts were consumed during the making of this post. Fred W. Popular Post DuckSoup Posted Monday at 07:56 PM Popular Post Report Posted Monday at 07:56 PM (edited) Friday, I stayed out of the way Patti was baking pumpkin rolls. Saturday, I stopped by to see @HandyDan & he gifted me an RBI Hawk scroll saw, I'll get through this week & next week I'll drive it around the block and get the feel of it. Today I cut the grass for what I believe to be the last time this year. Thanks Dan that's a very generous gift. Edited Monday at 07:58 PM by DuckSoup Gerald, BB1, lew and 5 others 2 4 2 Quote

Popular Post lew Posted Monday at 09:01 PM Popular Post Report Posted Monday at 09:01 PM My sister and brother-in-law are moving from NY to PA this week. I’m hoping I can use my advanced age as an excuse to escape the mayhem. Of course there’s the multi-course meals Mimi has planned for the Holiday. And the never ending emergency computer calls. Popular Post HARO50 Posted Monday at 09:37 PM Popular Post Report Posted Monday at 09:37 PM Drove up north early Thursday to see my sister and B-I-L. Her daughter (my oldest niece) passed away unexpectedly a month ago, and they have until the end of December to clean out her apartment. She literally saved everything! Found several older wood turnings from my dad, an old wind-up toy that I got from an aunt when I was about 3 years old, and a number of family pictures and heirlooms that I thought were no longer around. 860 miles round-trip, but the weather co-operated, and any snow that fell overnight was gone by the time the sun came up.
