Trying to figure HOW to varnish the entire thing at once....

 

Have bought a supply of Magnets to install, to hold the metal tools in place...Might wait until the varnish is dried and rubbed down?

Very cool and well done project. The simplicity of the era appropriate design really makes a statement. Two thumbs up Bandit.

Case has been rubbed down with 0000 steel wool..

Doors were stuck closed, BTW...were.

Laid the case down, and brushed on coat #2..

Got the Front Panel done, and 3 sides...

Back of the case, and the Hinge side?

Will just have to wait their turn, it would seem...

All dry, steel wooled, wiped off,  flipped over...and the hinge side has it's second coat..

Then the "Back" of the case was also 2nd coated..then "Tipped off"...

 

I do not have a hammer like the Brand Name Swan used...but, I do have these 2...about the same age...

Left one is a Capewell "1881" , 16 oz. Curved claw....the rougher looking one on the right...is a Champion 16 oz. Curved claw...

 

Hmmm, which one?

We'll see..stay tuned...

I did not have the 6" Gas Line Pliers...and the Bottle of glue and a brush are busy, elsewhere...

The credit says Bill Rainford.  He was, to the best of my knowledge, an outside contributing writer.  I knew all the employees at PopWood and their last shop before the closure was about a mile from my house, so I lived closer than any of them.

I am always curious to find out more about the makers and possibly see more of their work. Not sure but maybe this is possibly him?
