Wanted to add some pictures of the trays in the box when they are completed. I also added a strip of leather to help hold the box open and relieve a little bit of the stress on the hinges.

Those are not all of the tools but probably about 70% of them. Thanks for looking.

Most excellent Mike! :Praise:

At some point before you apply the finish, don't forget to carve or sign your name (makers mark) and the date. It's certainly worthy of that. My vote is for the inside of the lid.

That's a great idea; I sign the under side of the top on my acoustic builds, so why not. And i appreciate the complement.

But I have already applied 2 coats of minwax warm poly. I did not finish the interior, as I've seen several of these and none of them were finished inside. I will most likely give the inside a coat of paste wax, though.

Heirloom quality there Mike.  Nicely done.

Thanks, Dan!

I've got a few little things that still need doing, and I need to scare up some handles, but I'm happy with what I've got.

Yeah, I rake it up at least weekly, lol. Don't want it blowing into the neighbor's yard.

I plan to buy a large plastic tote and collect the plane shavings; I'm certain someone at my church heats with wood, and they would make slammin' great starter.

I collect all of my plane shavings in a separate trash bag. Use them to get the fire pit going. It doesn’t take much more than a sideways glance to get them lit.

Man, that’s the second time that has happened to me. I hit submit and it posts on a different topic.

Ok, I guess this is the same topic. Still trying to figure this social media thing out.
