I am a Lie Nielsen fan, and they just dropped this video a couple days ago, I found it fascinating all the work that goes into making these beautiful hand planes. There is a lot of human interaction with the making of these planes, next time you purchase a Lie Nielsen tool, remember they are all 100 percent Made in America, by American labor, and American hands and fingers have carefully fabricated and examined every inch of your Lie Nielsen tool. Enjoy!

Got a couple of those red oak blanks roughed out and into the soap/water soak for a couple of days. When they come out and go into the drying box, I'll do a few more.

Monday?   Leave it at that....cleaned up a stack of resaws, yesterday...about it...

I may be getting busy!

talked with 2 different ladies at church yesterday, different conversations, and was showing them the desk I fixed up last week, and they both asked "oh, do you fix antiques?"

well, maybe.  i explained i'm not a antique restorer, so if the piece is valuable, don't touch it, put it in the corner and enjoy having it.  as soon as you start "fixing" an antique that is worth money, you'll ruin the value.  but....if it's just an old piece that you'd like to be able to use, then, yes, I might be able to help out.

turns out they both have desks of some type that need help.  great, now i'm the desk guy.

so stay tuned.  and if it turns out that i can help out, i'll carefully explain that if they just pay for materials, we're square.  i don't need the hassle of keeping books for the tax man to be happy with his take.

Tough start to week. My wife's Uncle in Ukraine died last Monday.  Also found out my unit in Ukraine lost 6 guys over weekend.

Ah, another Monday. Thanks for the reminder John; Saves me the energy to look at the calendar to see what day it is. We're now one day closer to the weekend...wait, I'm retired...it's always the weekend:ROFL:

Saturday, located the other Christmas tree my wife had requested. Also got her Christmas wreath she made put on the front door. Yesterday, Christmas dinner after church services was good. A very thoughtful member chose me to be the recipient of her left over, home-made pecan pie. Being the kind hearted person I am:rolleyes:, I graciously accepted.:P

Domestic duties today. 7th grade basketball season ends tomorrow night with final home game. Need to get license plate stickers ordered; totally on-line now. Probably should review the calendar for a date when I should begin Christmas shopping. I'll likely hold off on another piece of pecan pie until this evening.:ChinScratch:Be safe y'all.

Listen closely...furniture flipper and content creator. Wonder what the split is between the two? I assume she means U.S. dollars vs Yuan Renminbi?;)

exactly, i suspect a fair share of $ comes from "look at me" videos.

@Gunny Sorry for your loss.

Had a great weekend. My decorations stayed lighted up thru the storm we had for the first time ever no blown GFI and after all I did to prevent it was exhilarating. Gave the Cosmic Cloud Platter to it's intended recipient.

I appreciate the comments.  Wife is as expected upset, was her only Uncle.

As for my comrades.  I dug out my special book of nasty tricks to pass on to my unit.  :DevilLaughing:
