Glad all is well and you had some time with your son. Assume all is good with him too? Has he finished with the Academy yet?

He has 3 more months at sea, then in July starts last year of Academy. Graduates June 2024. Expect him to be on a ship less than a month after graduation.  He wants the big $$$. 😁

Today, 3 of us from the woodworking club got together to build some cornhole boards for a Assoc. for the Blind fundraiser.

We met at one of the guy's church.  He had convinced the church to have some basement space to set up a woodworking shop to do projects at the church.   I was shocked at the size and equipment there.  He said he spends most days there (I would guess 'tinkering')

Here's a shot of the place, the wood rack is behind the camera.

Neighbors got a 2018 that needs a transmission, drivers side half-shaft, and I'm not sure what else.

The mount on the top of the transmission broke off when previous owner hit something. Only has 33K on it.

I can get a factory rebuilt for a little over $3700.00 with my employee/retiree discount, lists for a little over $5200.00.

Comes with 3 year unlimited milage warranty, boneyards want around $3K for used with over 100K miles.

Checked my clamps.  One is also a Champion made in Geneva, Oh.  The other is a Craftsman.  No indication where is was made.

Craftsman is likely a re-branded Stanley.  In the good old day Sears would make deals with manufactures of all sorts of products to make special versions of their products just for Sears.

I was using mine to hold a board across my radial arm table as an end stop for repeated cuts.  Haven't found any other use where only the L vise would solve the problem.

Sears never actually made any tools, they always subcontracted OEM du jour.  In later years, that's why it seemed like you could never get parts.  They contracted for a model of something for a couple years, dropped them, and the OEM quit making parts.  If you see a model number like 113.123456  the first three digits indicated the manufacturer, in this case 113 was Emerson Electric.  I interviewed with Whirlpool once and they were proud that they made a lot of the Kenmore appliances.

I worked one year as a designer for a furniture company that specialized in flat pack furniture.  They often sold products to Sears, but always had to tweak the design details so Sear's had a slightly unique version. Sometimes the only change was a color.

That is a load of water!  Three plus tons each.  What do you haul it with, a tank mounted on a trailer?

It finally got warm enough to pour some colored resin in the worm holes on Phyl's coffee table. In a couple days, it'll be cured enough for the first of two clear coats of resin.

Need to cut some legs for this scroll saw stand. Trying to customize it to the chair I'll be using. Plus, I want it to have a 15° tilt forward. Lotta head scratching but, methinks I've got it figgered out....sorta. I'm sure there'll be some tweaks necessary. There always are. At least with my builds.
