November 21, 20223 yr Popular Post Short week at the J.O.B. Office is closed Thursday and Friday and I'm taking a week of vacation next week. Weather is supposed to be pretty here after turkey day according to the weatherman who speaks with a forked tongue. Much overdue shop time is on the way. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. The Patriot Woodworker is one of my many blessings. What are you thankful for this year? .40
November 21, 20223 yr Popular Post @John Morris, thanks for another interesting and informative Monday post. My mesquite rounds table tops are coming along nicely. The punkiness has all been routed out on the final two. All sanded to 100 grit and today, they get a seal coat of water based poly. Hopefully, tomorrow I can pour the colored resin. Gotta get the shop temp up to around 70° first, though. More propane. Turkey day will be at our son and DIL's place. The same group that was here yesterday for our sons' Bday bash will all be there, too. I'm very thankful for all the great folks here on the PWW site. And, thankful for our continued good health and, for our wonderful families. Edited November 21, 20223 yr by Gene Howe

November 21, 20223 yr Popular Post Mimi has this phobia about having a clean house (she's married to a slob). So with expected guests on Thursday, you can guess what we are doing this week!
November 21, 20223 yr Popular Post Been working on filling my store back up for a show on the 3rd. Today going to pickup 170 landscape block. Don't think my truck can handle so also taking son's truck as this is to build a firepit at his place. All this and me with the crude to boot but things happen.
November 21, 20223 yr Popular Post Whew...grueling swim invitational weekend over and I never got wet. Lots of walking, step climbing, sitting and so on took its toll. Overall a great experience though. Met a few of the team parents plus entire men and women's team at the meal. Great group of kids. Two of the young men are from Texas. Long way to NE, Indiana. Granddaughter is ecstatic to be home for a week. Mrs. Grandpa is on vacation this week so I'm under tight reins. Thanksgiving will be at daughter/SIL house. 24lb turkey is in our fridge now for slow defrost. Oldest granddaughter will be home later this week. Will this be the week the Buick gets is new, GM factory re-manufactured engine? Will this be the week the Buick finally comes home? Stay tuned for answers to these questions and other dark secrets in the next episode of "Buick Enclave, Where Art Thou?"

Thankful for my immediate family and my extended family here at TPW. I'm thankful to live in this country. We've got our cousin Eddys and all, but a great place to call home. Most importantly, I'm thankful for our men and women located around the globe committed to seeing our family and yours has a Thanksgiving meal even though they are separated from their own.
November 21, 20223 yr Popular Post We’re still in there, throwing punches, refusing to give up, so that’s what I’m grateful for.
November 22, 20223 yr Popular Post Busy day at work, no time for anything but wrenches moving bolts and such. Have Thursday through Sunday off, two days paid even! Can't remember last time I had holidays off. Maybe before I started working as a teenager? Always worked so iothers could have off. This place, NOPE, everybody gets off, period. Linda nice to be treated like a human being verses a piece of meat.
