It's there Tom! CnC Machine ended up with the Spindle Steady Rest.

Oh, OK.  I didn't realize they were a contributor to the fund.  I assumed they were supplying the steady rest.  Thanks John, I appreciate the info.

You bet Tom. CnC Machine is a guest contributor, the only non-member award recipient. We had a few guest contributions this year, thank you guests!!!

Tom, the spindle rest awardee has been updated, the contributor is @jthornton, I did not match the donor appropriately with the name. We just PM'd each-other, and thank you again John Thornton!

Internet has been down. I am speechless and humbled to see what I have been gifted from our great sponsor Laguna. Never in my wildest dreams when I contributed to our deserving family did I expect such a surprise honor.

Yesterday was a exciting day for me. A week +1d after it was scheduled to arrive, the Ward 57 drawing prize arrived from Laguna. No fault of Lagunas; it was the transport company who dropped the ball. However in their defense, the district office manager called me personally for the rescheduled delivery. He even offered to deliver it personally in his PU if need be. As many businesses they are struggling to find and retain help.

 

The driver was more than accommodating to. Helped me get it on my hand truck off the power lift gate plus get it in the garage. I tipped him well. Much appreciated in the mid 30 weather. SIL dropped by soon after, helped me get on a caster dolly. As the garage door closed, the rain began so all turned out well.

 

In full disclosure, while I was gifted the Laguna F2 Fusion table saw, through gracious help from @John Morris and even more gracious agreement by Laguna, I received in place of the TS, a 14/12 BS with mobility option. While the F2 Fusion has so many great features and no doubt would be a woodworkers dream to own, at age 70, I will get far more use from the 14/12 BS than the table saw. Additionally, space is a severe limitation as well.

 

My old Craftsman Contractors TS which I purchased new in 1977 and have upgraded the fence a couple of times since has served me well. It is capable of doing most anything I'm capable of doing. To be honest, since my back surgery I haven't used it or my two other smaller TS. I'm still working through some balance issues and truthfully a bit fearful of operating a TS.

 

So for now, the 14/12 is stored safely away until warmer weather returns. I can't express my gratitude to Laguna Tools enough for their site support and donation. They are a world class operation. Thanks to John and all of you as well. Without Laguna, The Patriot Woodworker and all, y'all, this would not be possible. I hope to do you proud!

Glad to hear the Laguna 14/12 bandsaw has arrived Dave. I'm sure you will be happy with it. I've really been happy with mine. You will have a bit of assembly when you get to it but I do recommend you have someone to help you with your bad back. ENJOY ! 

Glad to hear you got what you needed Dave. That’s a great bandsaw and can’t wait to see what projects you use it on !
