October 15, 20223 yr Popular Post A big part of the decision would be if you are going to mount to mobile base, or stationary base. For mobile bigger = heavier and as others have commented that makes a big difference. For my set up I used stationary and loaded the base up with storage. No right way, just what works best for you.
October 15, 20223 yr Author Popular Post Good point. It will be put in place where my current miter saw is. It is on a "mobile table". This has all my power tool mounted on there. Table saw, Miter saw, and Jointer. Eventually, once we either find a new house OR renovate our current house I will get a dedicated workshop.

But I don't use much more than the 45, nothing I have ever really done required much more than that, I have occasionally but I bet that 22.5 slot is still brand new, perhaps that's why it don't wiggle?
October 15, 20223 yr Popular Post Here's what I've noticed on forums about these saws over the years. Everyone said Bosch at one time. Here nothing now. In the day Dewalt was king. Lately all I hear is less than. Milwaukee is generally the price. Makita made changes sinse the 90's I'm not fond of . They make some great tools and some not so great, but that's all manufactures.

I think for my use anything would probably work, I don't require much out of my miter saw, cross cutting and 45's it about it, but if I were building poker tables with all kinds of crazy angles and such, I bet I'd notice every little shortcoming of a CMS.
October 15, 20223 yr This past year I did add a cover for the saw. Makes big difference on clean up part of shop.
October 15, 20223 yr Author Popular Post Here is my current setup. Because of space I roll this out into the driveway along with my assembly table. I will have to modify the opening for the new miter saw.

It has a lot to do with use. Each time I put it in a preset, I have to lock it. Not so much on a simple miter, but when using the sliding action. I've got a Makita LS1000 with notches and is a great sw. We used one at the cabinet shop for installation and was great for cutting crown, when the shop upgraded to a newer Makita, they no longer offered the notch but a bearing. I had to lock it each time I cut crown at a angle. A real PITA

It has a nice shadow line. The bosch is getting great reviews as well. I like the articulating arm is the zero clearance.

It took me forever to setup and breakdown. Came up with this. Has its short falls but works for 95% of what I do.
October 15, 20223 yr One thing I kept in mind was how far out this handle sticks. People that hurt when you bang your hip into it, or your head.

October 15, 20223 yr I had 24' of room between the saw and bench. The slider made it 15'". I have to move my bench out about 9". You'll need Deven more with a 12". I keep thinking it wa a 33" in depth.. Edited October 15, 20223 yr by BillyJack
