    Don't fight it.  I had a student who made a rocking chair in one class.  In the following class I encouraged her to design a side table that would rock along with the rocking of the chair.  Of course the top of the table had to stay level as it rocked.  She made several prototypes, but ended up settling for a normal/boring 4 legged side table.  ;)

    Rocking is walking.  If you are headed some where then rocking is OK.  If you are trying to stand still but rocking it might be a sign of a bladder that needs emptying.  ;)
