The desert smells like magic after a rain. Sage, creosote, petrichor. A fresh cleanliness. It rained last night.

25° and clear skies above.  Feels like 21°.  Humidity 85%.  Light breeze up to 3mph from the west. High might hit 50° today by 4:00pm. 87% chance of heavy rain now the prediction for Thursday from 10:00am and ending 6:00am on Friday. 

Chance of any snow has evaporated with temps in the 40s for the rest of this week.

Got you too, I see? We did briefly hit 39° but the wind score beat that.

 

7:35A, EDT; we're at 28°, RF 22° which is the warmest we've been at this time of day all month. WSW wind has calmed to 5-10 mph at least for now. Pretty orange on the Eastern horizon. High of 43° forecast which sounds mighty fine to me.

We never got the wind we were slated for so a nice sunny day in the low 30s it was.  I even stopped and got gas.

It's snowing now but should end soon with less than an inch expected.  It should should melt this afternoon under mostly cloudy skies and a balmy 36°.

Light rain and snow listed for tomorrow.

54° for today's high. Not too shabby but, by the time our guests arrive from IL this Saturday, it'll be in the high 70s and, over the following several days, will climb to the mid 80s.

As I sit here it's 38° outside, pretty warm for Jan. 29 in these parts. But the wind is still blowing so the WC is about 25°. Today is supposed to be near 40 again, but it's pretty hard to enjoy those temps with the winds we're having. Lots of sun again as well....despite my complaints about the wind, not all that bad.

Definitely a warming trend with the high today to hit 52°.  26° now and climbing,  Humidity at 88%.  Wind a measly 2mph from the west. Partly cloudy which will flip to mostly sunny by mid afternoon. Rain still predicted for Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. 57° on Saturday followed by 62° on Sunday.   Then a cool down back to the low 40s and high 30s for next week.

Car showed 47° yesterday while still in Indy. It became extremely windy even in the big city. Drive home was fun too with the wind; some gusts 40-45 mph recorded. I knew Indy had received more snow that we had, but still odd to see so much still on the ground.

 

It was still 44° at 5P when we got back to our county seat so took wife's Jeep through the car wash. Five ahead of us on that line. It was still 40° at 12:30A today and wind still roaring 

 

8:05A, EDT; we're at 32°, RF 22° this morning which is a first this month for this time of day. Pretty orange sunrise earlier. West wind getting charged up already gusting to 15 mph. Upper 40's for the high; wind less than 100 mph. Still more gooder than snow and below zero; well at least til the mud emerges.

Mostly cloudy today with a small chance of a shower.  Upper 30s are promised which should continue the snow melt.  A lot of it is is melted back and small patches of yard are visible.  Winds around 15mph again today and are to calm down tomorrow into the low single digits.  The sun is supposed to make itself seen then too.

... but not much! Got a good dumping of $&%* along with the wind, but it's kinda hard to tell how much, since most of it is probably in Maine by now! We do, however, have up to a foot on the ground, depending on where you look. The best neighbour in the world blew out our driveway before decent people even got out of bed, so we'll probably have a coffee together after lunch. (Or a beer, depending on the wind chill!) Thanks, Kevin!

After reaching 44° yesterday, we're still at 31° this morning. Mid 40s again today. Sunny to start then clouding over as rain moves in tonight. This is a nice warm stretch we're in, looks like it will go on for a while.

46° yesterday, mostly cloudy all day windy but nothing like it has been.

 

7:58A, EDT; low was 26° earlier. Now at 28°, RF 28°, another quite red sunrise on the horizon but mostly cloudy. A light frost on as well. High of 46° forecast with rain moving in this afternoon through tomorrow morning. Total guestimate is .25"-.50"; double or more south of I-70 corridor. Stays in the upper 30's overnight

37° and cloudy. Feels like 35°.  7:58AM.  Humidity 96% and rain predicted to start by 11:00AM if not sooner. 4mph breeze from the south east. "Light rain and snow" they claim despite the temps predicted to be in the 40s by the time it starts. 

Should any snow hit the ground it'll be gone by tomorrow when the temps climb up to 53°.
