The shim idea isn't bad, but I just can't bring myself to cut a non-trivial amount of QSRO into wedges and shims though.  

After I acquire machinery for making horsehair brushes, I'd like my own machinery for making shims. Churn out a few dozen packets a day. In custom woods. Cherry, mahogany, ash, walnut. Especially walnut. Mmmmmm

 

So when you're fabricating and want a few shims in matching wood, you'd have the right shim for the job.

 

I use shims all of the time, like a third hand, but was classically trained in caveman luthiery practices.

 Yeah, could have got $750.00+ without doing anything, now waiting to get $80.00 as it is. 

 

Glad I checked when I got this.

 

The last one I saw (Same model in about the same condition) sell on ebay went for just a little shy of $1600.00. 

 

 I may add lights, but it will be done so that they can be removed without leaving proof they were ever there. 

 

 Maybe a couple of "Candelstick" lights on the sides, or maybe "Halophane" shades...or how about...

Ok I know people give you stuff that you use , but what will you ever do with that many fittings. That is unless you are changing professions

I have many different money making schemes.

Finally. Calling this done. It'll go into a room dim enough to hide the mistakes Really, the only visible issues are glue between slats in a couple of places.

 

A major learning experience. I'm ready to make another. Even buy the wood instead of scavenging it ***
