May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Huh? I lost a day, somehow. I'll check around. It probably rolled under the bench.
May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Nothing but appointments this week, starting with my family doc today. Somewhere in there I have to mow the lawn and get my tiller out of the repair shop.

May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Finished sink cabinet for my friend. Loaded it up and delivered. Be a few days before I get pictures of it installed. Bathroom was not ready for cabinet yet.
May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Chilly, rainy..and a "normal" Monday.. Table and drawer have been hand-sanded (last night) to 180 grit...to remove all the Dust Bunnies in the Varnish.. Need to take along an old T-shirt to the shop...and wipe the 2 down...and add a 2nd coat of varnish.... waiting on PayDay ( Wednesday) before getting the license plate on the Chevy renewed, give it an oil change, and do a wee bit of shopping....while I wait. Am out of lumber in the shop, other than for a small box, or three... Sir Uncle Charles decided to use the entire right leg as a wake up call.....to the point I had to get up and walk it off...might as well stay up, now
May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post @Gunny I'm sure it will look very nice installed. The open back will make life a little easier. Danl

May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Got the mowing done again yesterday. Raining today but I'm sure I can find something that needs done without getting wet.

Got an armchair caddy / coffee cup table glued up over the weekend, need to get the router set up and finish up the profiles and get it sanded down and coated with poly. At this point I am just trying to do things with red oak scraps until the cherry dries out enough to actually use.

May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Got a few small jobs done over the weekend before rains came Saturday and Sunday evenings. Mrs Grandma Grandpadave is home today so I'm under contract to her today. Low pay, but good food. Week 2 of "minor league baseball", M-TH. Oldest went 0-2 last week; youngest 1-1. Youngest granddaughter finishes finals Thursday so will be home Friday. Oldest, TBD. Mowing between rains and ballgames. Work to do on all mowers, trimmers, chainsaws past due since last year was mostly lost.

May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Awesome cabinet, @Gunny! almost finished with the little gift for my former boss. Waiting for finish to dry so I can make a few adjustments. Started a new pepper grinder but I think it's going to need to be remade. Not sure how well the glued surfaces mated. Band saw cuts were not the best.
May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Cleaned up some limbs I trimmed and burned them . Got a walnut bow sanded , except bottom and off the lathe. Today to work on cutting blanks for turning club hands on Friday. Not feeling like doing much more than piddling lately so have many projects started so I don't get bored with just 1.
May 16, 20224 yr Another day I paradise. Gluing up stock for all the pantry drawers and shelving. But meanwhile … we are still in the middle of the new roof. They worked all weekend and got the felt down. Unfortunately I was under the impression that they knew what they were doing and didn’t check on them. I thought they got the felt down rather quickly. Oops. Part of the contract stipulates all new metal. The guys putting the felt down didn’t get the memo. They laid down a double layer of 40 lb felt without replacing the old valley sheet metal and drip edge and used the wrong vent stacks. The roofing contractor who wasn’t there to supervise is now figuring out he won’t be able to reuse the felt. 39 squares times two is a lot of felt to throw away. We will see if he walks. Paul
May 16, 20224 yr Popular Post Ouch, that's an expensive mistake to eat! Most roofers around here are kind of questionable. Good to hear that progress is being made though.
