It's more tart than not ... :cowboy:

zweibelkuchen :: Tsvee-bell-kook-en :: Zwiebelkuchen is a savory German onion cake made of steamed onions, diced bacon, cream, and caraway seeds on either a yeast or leavened dough.

Vegan zweibelkuchen, which the nice farm market gal sell, I'm not sure what is in it. She calls it an onion tart. Except that I'm getting as large as an autumn woodland chipmunk or squirrel eating it.

I spent this week getting my hardware straighten out

I've had the pigeon holes for a couple of years now and finally did something with it.

Finishing up an 11" transition strip for between tiled kitchen and wood floor of the dining room.

Sanding it now. So far, it hasn't been a whole lot of fun.

Well, it's no longer Monday, but today I got the templates laid out for some game boards.  Next drill holes in them, then drill 64 holes in each of  16 boards.  Ah, the powers of two.  That would be 1K (1024) holes ahead next week.  Holey cow, it will be a boring week.  :P    Yesterday and today drove the wife 30 minutes to get one of her sewing machines serviced.  For my effort, I got a donut from a really good donut shop next door.  Yesterday there were about a dozen people in the line behind me.

<political rant> In the meantime, I'm getting really tired of the political ads by the clown-car candidates.  In the background is your opponent, blurred or lines thru thru the image and running at half speed.  And because Ohio can't get a new district map drawn without gerrymandering (third try), the primary for some offices will be deferred until August.  </political rant>

Only one donut for all that effort? That doesn't seem right.;)

I voted yesterday (in the Primary A ballot, to be followed by Primary B)...silly me, seems like if you've already voted it would be illegal to broadcast those ads into your TV. I can always dream it will happen I guess.

Any ideas what these are?? Found in Dad's box, buried under piles of old receipts.

Those are cool Gunny. Guessing from the 1940's- to perhaps mid 60's as the name is Lufkin Rule Company.  Lufkin made a number of high quality machinist gages and tooling comparable to Starrett and Brown & Sharp. With these in either actual leather or a simulated leather file, my guesstimate is late 40's to late 50's Era.

Just curious, was your dad a tool collector or with these did he perchance work for Delta?

Was a hunch on my part given your locale. Having seen pictures of his home shop, many tools and cabinets, I suspected he was far more than an avid DIY'er. One of my closest friends was born, raised and lived most of his life in Atlanta until 25+ years ago when he moved here after retiring early from Bell South. His father was a retired Delta machinist. Lot of cool tools in his (friend's father) collection too. However his side hobby was firearms. Great gunsmith among other skill-sets.

Finished sorting the last of my hardware, I think. I actually didn't know I had that much until I got it all together. Pulled the Table saw out of the basement with a 'Come along', that's the last time I do that, it's staying in the barn year round. The rollers came in to make the mobile base for the Jointer, that's done. I also got the new blades for the jointer that will go in tomorrow. P4080239.JPG.219314cb37723a9bf91e07f2c987fb0b.JPG

Ari and I went for a walk on the other side of the river. He found a big stick, I found an old Desiel Oil Filter, just what I needed for one of my next light builds.P4080236.JPG.ab91417ecd163ba8dc654b9daa922ff2.JPGP4070230.JPG.3da6fbc2b5c70c0cd2c192d68fd0f1c0.JPG

That's gonna be one tall lamp! Maybe a floor lamp?

Looks like you have a bit of supervision, there. Nice looking animal.

It will be the spacers between the plates. This one is made from corroded copper, also from the river.
