Well the giant snowstorm was a giant bust, here. About 2" of snow and some sleet.

Gonna try to design/build a jig to hold rolling pins so I can engrave the ends rather than using a Sharpie.

After watching @frenchwwr's fantastic video, I'm off to the shop with renewed and, re inspired vigor. With visions of cloud lifts dancing before my eyes.

But first, before beginning to realize any self indulgent fantasies, there's a vanity to complete and a few walnut tables to build. So, it's back at it. SYL!

Kicked off today making a batch of SW, chicken, white chili. In the slow cooker now. Not much else on the horizon. Typical bleak, cold mid January Indiana winter weather. Have a few business/ planning meetings at church during the evenings this week. Watching a couple on-line auctions which close later in the week.

Big outing tomorrow though. Hard to believe 5+ weeks since last hair cut. So a trip to the Emerald city mid morning for that. Once that 15 minute task is checked off, trip to Rural King, then Menards. May stop at H-F since they're 1/2 way between unless I can make it to the restroom at Menards:P.

Considering a stop at Best Buy; want to upgrade to a portable SSD hard drive...at least 2TB. Last would be a stop at the big in-door flea market; haven't been there for over a year; have to see if my back and right leg will approve.

Welp, with all the buzz about Artie's (and others) Kissmas trees I'm going to try to get out to the shop and find my copy of that Woodcraft mag with the plans...looks like I may try to make one (or however many it turns out to be).

I knew better than to gas up the snow blower! Sure way to chase away a good snow storm.

Somebody's got to say it so just as well be me..."didn't happen without pictures." And remember I've been to your shop so I'll know if the pictures are real.:lol:

I put the plow on the Polaris Ranger the beginning of December and it held it back and then dumped it on us all at one time.  Worth the try though.

Feeling lot better this morning but now the wife has it. Cleaned up some in  the kitchen this morn and had to take a rest.

Had a couple hours in shop yesterday working on the dust collection ports I took apart before the covid hit. Today will be back at that putting in metal blast gates and I promise pictures.

Oh we missed the snow but about 15 miles north 6 inches closed a highway.

Me too. Careful @Geraldmessing around with dust collection stuff after dealing with COVID.

Hoping you both recover quickly, with no lingering effects, Gerald.

I'll echo all the thoughts above about getting past all this for you and the Mrs., Gerald. Hope she recovers quickly and both of you have no "after" problems.

Hope you and the Mrs. get back to normal quickly Gerald.  Sister-in-law had it and gets tired out earlier than she used too but getting there and the other symptoms are gone.

@Gerald, like all the others. We hope you have a quick and complete recovery.

John, thank you for the video. Of all the places I have been in my life I really wanted to go but the opportunity never came. I would love to visit for several weeks and get to work with those folks.

It warmed up to 56 today so I mowed the front yard. Tomorrow will get started with some turnings.  Only about 3 days this week with sun and then the January gray returns.

I was trying to avoid Monday...maybe it will just go away..

Shop Maintenance Week...re-arrange the Plane tils so everyone has a place to sit....The new No. 8c  will get it's iron re-sharpened...first 1/8" of it is nothing but pits....grind back past those, and make a new bevel...

No lumber in the shop, at the moment.....we'll see how THAT goes...

Just another Monday at work.  Between that and some social obligations got nothing done in the shop today… it was a sad Monday…

Cold & rainy Sunday followed by a cold & windy Monday.  Stayed inside and caught up on some paperwork and gathering up/planning for the tax prep.

For the week ahead, oil changes in a couple vehicles.  Unlike @Grandpadave52, I don't get much satisfaction from doing it myself any more.  And too, I can get it done in town for about what the oil & filter would cost me at the auto supply.

Supposed to be nice on Wednesday (afternoon), will try and get the shadow box a step forward - may get it to the point of dropping off to have the glass cut while I am out Thurday.

And then another cold/rainy weekend in front of us.
