Popular Post Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted December 20, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted December 20, 2021 Well, Marie is into full blown bake-everything-I-can for the kids/grandkids to take home on Christmas day....so I'm into the support mode for the rest of the week. She also got all her Christmas bags done up yesterday (she uses bags instead of wrapping) and we need to go shopping today so she can buy more stuff to make sure the bags are absolutely full. lew, Grandpadave52, HARO50 and 10 others 1 12 Quote
Popular Post Gene Howe Posted December 20, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted December 20, 2021 We'll be sightseeing for the next several days. Today, after a breakfast at one of our favorite feeding troughs, we're headed for the De Grazia studio. He's a favorite for my sister. Might squeeze in a visit to a desert garden and bistro. Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted December 20, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted December 20, 2021 I survived (barely) the nearly 5 hour round trip drive time Friday to bring youngest granddaughter home. Up side I filled truck up on way back for $2.97/ gal. We also had a nice lunch with Uncle Bob Evans. Weekend was filled with sports activities. Oldest grandson had a double-header Saturday AM. Won both games to finish the season undefeated by defeating the only other undefeated 5th grade team...doubled the score on them. 40-20. He had a good day with 24 points for the 2 games. County HS swim meet also was going on in same building so took in some of that. Daughter's fiancée took both boys to Patriots vs Colts game Saturday night. I watched from home. Sad night for them as all 3 are rabid Pat's fan. Sorry @Al B. Sunday school + Church yesterday AM. Youngest grandson had games in PM to finish travel league season for 2nd graders. His team was in tournament winners bracket for league championship. Went 2-0 on day to win the league. Couldn't let big brother do better Both girls left early together this AM. Youngest working out with HS swim team for a couple hours then they are going out to eat, take in movie matinee then do some Christmas shopping. Did I mention they're together? I'll stay close to the phone should bail need to be arranged. Remainder of week, final preparations for Christmas so I'll be doing as ordered. Still have 5 shopping days left counting today, so no need for panic yet. Larry Buskirk, FlGatorwood, DuckSoup and 8 others 4 7 Quote
Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted December 20, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted December 20, 2021 @Gunny Nice work on the cabinet. Love the festive clamp colors too. @HandyDan Cool banks and great gift ideas. I'm guessing they were big hits along with the ornaments. @Gerald Awesome bells. The various color palettes couldn't be more festive. Excellent job and choices. Gunny, HandyDan, Gerald and 8 others 8 3 Quote

forty_caliber Posted December 20, 2021 Report Posted December 20, 2021 Working the JOB, MTW this week. After that another VACATION week. Didn't make it out to the shop this last weekend. Got a hitch in my giddy-up with a trick knee. Doc took some pictures and will let me know if he sees anything interesting. To pre-answer the obvious question, "Gosh .40 what did you do to your knee?" Think 1980's, 500cc Honda Elsinore, the high desert on the Llano Estacado out in West Texas, cactus, barb wire fence, cedar fence post. Paints a pretty picture... .40 steven newman, HARO50, Artie and 9 others 12 Quote

Last night I watched Tom Brady suffer what I believe may be his worst loss ever. Score was only 9-0 but to be shut out, sacked 4 times, throw an interception and fumble to the opposing team , all on your home field. That had to hurt. He sure didn't look very happy. 3 hours ago, Grandpadave52 said: Daughter's fiancée took both boys to Patriots vs Colts game Saturday night. I watched from home. It was the first NFL game for the youngest grandson. When the Colts blocked the punt and ran back for the TD, youngest yelled out intended for the Colts "you're really not that good of a team...just lucky!" He takes his football and especially Pats football very seriously. Neither boys would talk about it with me yesterday. Saw that about Brady this AM. Tough night. Lot of streaks broke this weekend. Pats had scored in 1st half 99 straight games. Cal, Artie, DuckSoup and 3 others 6 Quote

Kids all came in on Friday to celebrate Christmas with the old folks for the weekend. All of us headed to Cleveland on Saturday to visit Ralphie's house, good time had by all. Served up a holiday dinner Saturday afternoon and opened presents after that. Sunday brunch and then watch my sons-in-law pack all their bags & gifts in the cars for the trip back home. The weekend went as fast as they did when I was working. Time to prepare for this weekend with out-of-town in-laws arriving Friday & dinner on Saturday.
