December 2, 20214 yr Author Popular Post comment_276915 Thank you gentlemen. Gerald, I wish I could take credit for that roof idea but I saw something similar on mewe, liked it and decided to copy the idea. Took me a bit to figure it out but then I realized the roof is just a very small natural edge bowl with a little tenon underneath for gluing to the body. Report

December 2, 20214 yr Popular Post comment_276966 @Steve Krumanaker You have inspired me to play around making some of the little birds. My only question is how do attach the heads to the bodies. Best I could come up with is drill small holes for a wire pin. Been using small paper clips for the wire pieces. Report

Dan, the little birds are easier than you might think and you are on the right track, at least compared to how I do them. Think of them as two tear drop shapes. The head is like a drop just after it forms, short and kind of squat. The body is like a drop just before it lets go, kind of elongated and slender. I do use a wire when I'm making them but it's something I bought at the hardware, don't remember the gauge but I'll look in the morning. Here is a short video of putting a little bird together. I had success forming the birds but was lacking when it came to assembly. I was doing as you do but didn't have the foresight to put the wire through the body and use it for mounting. My eyes got real big when I saw thrt in the video and had that Aahaa!! moment. Thanks a bunch!! Report
