Friday? :WonderScratch:

How did that happen?

:ChinScratch: Been helping the neighbor get the boiler up and running. That old system is really playing games this year. Need to find a coil for the heat exchanger blower motor contactor. Also need to crawl around in the "Steam Tunnels" to try to locate a leak. :( Scary in there. :BitingNails:

Looks like my weekends planned. <_<

Welp, Marie is into full-blown baking for the holiday mode. When you're handicapped you have to start early. That, in turn, increases my household duties as I try to accommodate her "hobby". For example, I had to clear enough room in the freezer yesterday so she can store her goodies until Thanksgiving day (we repeat this on Christmas). Most of this stuff will be "gifts" for the family to take home after Thanksgiving dinner. Since we had to skip Thanksgiving last year, i suspect she will be trying to make up for it this year.

Piddle around in the shop, today. Tomorrow the local heath center is hosting a hot air balloon festival and food fair. I couldn't care less about the hot air balloons but the food trucks may likely offer some regional favorites...i.e. Sonoron Dogs, grilled creamed cheese stuffed and, bacon wrapped shrimp And, phyl's favorite, grilled saucer sized scallops..

Trees finally did a major leaf dump yesterday.  I cleaned them up thinking I would get in the shop today since it was supposed to rain last night.  It did rain but the sun is back today.  May end up outside again.

Used to remember when it being a Friday meant something good.....now...just another day.....I don't get too excited until about the 3rd Wednesday of the month....

In 18 NOV 1972.....somebody we all know got married....so...that is how long putting up with the Boss?

Have a Miter Box to rehab, this weekend....

Youngest grand-daughter travels to Buckeye State near Columbus for a swim meet on Saturday. IDK yet if it will be livestreamed. Hoping so. Remainder of weekend TBD based on weather, how rough today is on me and other unknowns.

However, a big day today; my every 5 weeks outing to the metropolis. First stop is a haircut. That alone will consume nearly 15 minutes out of my day then off to Menards for a variety of items, then swing back by Rural King for various bird seeds, pet necessities, a few other items and check some ammo prices. 50/50 chance I'll stop at Harbor-Freight.

Last stop out of Dodge will be Casey's General Store for afternoon coffee and gas up the truck. If per chance I have one more out/in left in me, about 1/2 way home out in the middle of nowhere, a quick stop at Dollar General for a few items on the list. Finally home and the drudgery of unloading begins

FWIW, I received no compensation or products for the ramblings above. I sometimes get carried away with excitement when I talking about my big day every five weeks.

FWIW, unless MB is made from copper, I don't think it would make a good 49th Anniversary gift. You might check with Gloria Vanderbuilt to be sure though.

We are getting one of these here in town. They bought the old K-Mart building and are in the process of renovating it. It's just a block away, so I can foresee many visits there.

The rollup security door (main and only entrance to my shop) had an axle break earlier this week.  Looks like that door is no longer made and parts aren't available.  Looking at $2k to replace.  On the upside, I'm going with a 4' instead of the 8' that's currently installed and that extra bit of wall and floor space will really help out in my tiny shop.  On the downside, no more new tools for a while.

are you going to frame in that missing 4' section...or have it done?

I'll be doing some of it.  The overhead door company wanted $400 to do it.  At $100 a foot...no thank you.

Change of plans, 4' door is back ordered 12-16 weeks.  Opening will stay the same size and just get a new door.

new tool day:  6 gallon air compressor and some attachments and hose.

needed a way to fill up my truck tires in less than 40 minutes.

had a flat yesterday, pulled the tire, found the nail, reamed and plugged the hole, then filled the tire to 53psi (truck tire, big) using my little battery pack/jumper/air inflator.  it ran out of power before getting to the desired 60psi.

not anymore.

plug is holding pressure, good to go.

pistol match tomorrow.

side effects of my wife's Chemo are kicking her butt today.  lot of pain, and cold.  only lasts a few days, thankfully.

Well, maybe not quite that big, but "muy grande". If it's the same seafood truck as last time, those scallops will be around  2.5" to 3.5" in dia. Ya only get 5-8 per order, with a nice crispy bunch of fries. But, that's usually plenty.

For my mother's shop. Color coded so she knows when to turn heater on and off. Will install on my visit Wednesday.
