Friday March 19th 2021-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Friday again folks, and supposedly the last day of winter. We shall see. <_<

The past few days here have been batten down the hatches with winds approaching 50 MPH.

The weather reporters are saying we'll get into the low to mid 60's for Sunday, & Monday. I'll believe it if it happens. :Tapping:

If it does happen I'll be getting the electrolysis tank set up, and start cleaning up the cast iron, and steel parts to a couple machines. ;)

:ChinScratch: ... So, What's on your weekend agenda?

Got my DC back into service (burned out the centrifugal switch) so I'm back to working on a William and Mary table. Marie has another Dr. visit this PM so I guess today's activities will be curtailed.

We are off to the coast to spiff up the boat and probably go sailing Sunday. Weather is supposed be good and it’s time to get the grandkids out on the water.

Serial number indicates 1951 vintage, so here's the clip from the 1951 catalog.

:ChinScratch: Got $20.50 for the load of cans, and left with $ .50 to spare. ;)

Nice find! I'm amazed that they would sell that without a motor! :WonderScratch:

It's got a motor, I can't quite read the badge because somebody used a wire wheel on it. <_<

I think it's a Delta 9502 1 HP 3 Ph 1725 RPM motor due to it's size, and from what I can make out on what's left of the badge.

The things a lot heavier than it looks, I almost did a face plant when I went to pick it up off the floor.

Check the fine print in the ad. "Without motor or switch". The buyer had to add his own!

Basketball is king in Indiana!  Tomorrow our local high school team is playing in the state final four semi state so naturally it is road trip weekend.  Go Blackford Bruins!

 ... Doh! :BangingHead:

Back then almost all machines were sold without a motor. You had to order a motor separately.

Anyone remember AMT tools?   When I started out, they used to sell all sorts of stationary power tools for less than $100.  Motor extra, some assembly required.   I think the only thing I ever got from them was a rabbet plane - pure junk.

Finished the Coffee Bar and now she wants a shelf with cup hooks. At least I have gotten some turning done. Hope to do more turning tomorrow and maybe plan the shelf . I have brought upon myself another project so the pots are not piled into one drawer but more on that later.

Working on some mock ups to hold tap and dies.  Got a suggesting from @HandyDan that might work.  Space is biggest issue here, as always.

Also discovered the jig I made to drill holes in round objects for the drill press.  Yeah worked great on the 8 inch Delta Drill Press I sent to @Cal.  Never bothered to see if it fit the WEN drill press.  It didn't.  :BangingHead:  Made a new base for it, will be ready next few days.

Doesn't really matter, the machine will work with any 8 1/2" frame motor with a 3/4" shaft. ;)

We've had a wonderful week these past seven days.  Our son came for a visit :) and will be leaving this morning for his trek back to Ohio :(.  Although he worked during the day, we had good visiting and great eating in the evenings :D.  Our daughter came home on Tuesday and stayed until Thurs. morning :).  She had just finished up one of those private school "bootcamp" computer courses :Praise: and while here received a great, and well paying, job offer .

I have been dabbling on the dresser this past week.  Carcass is in the mudroom now for paint.  Yesterday I edge banded the plywood top so today I plan to sand it down and ease the edges and it will also be ready for paint.  I measured up for a new mirror yesterday, I will root through my stack of red oak to see what I might have to make a new frame for it.  The mirror frame will get dyed when ready.  All in all, I have been busy enough and will continue into the coming week with finishing up these projects.

 ...Man does that bring back some memories. :DayDreaming:

:ChinScratch: ... Let's see now, you take .090 off the deck of the head, add a marine cam, Clifford Research 4 barrel intake, Holley Carb, and wait for the look on the face of that other guy with the 327 Camaro when he gets a look :JawDrop:at that slant six that just beat him. :DevilLaughing:

:throbbinghead:

:D ... Yea that 69 Satellite with the slant six was a lot of fun. :DayDreaming:
