Took a lot of fried powdered egg sandwiches to school. Don't remember getting any honey. Big bags of oatmeal, rice, flour, corn meal, canned chicken, canned pork, and something that was supposed to resemble Spam but didn't come close. Gerald, Gene Howe, Fred W. I forgot to list the bags of sugar, and the canned shredded beef also. Don't remember ever getting bacon. 59 minutes ago, DuckSoup said: You could not fry it long enough for me to eat it. Kind of wish they'd bring back the old Surplus Commodities Program. John Morris, Gene Howe, Cal and 6 others
Popular Post Gunny 56,736
Used to decorate the house, go all out. Had a bad experience with ex wife that killed the vibe for doing that. Never did it again. If I hadn't remarried I doubt I would put up a tree. Thankfully Lena just wants a tree and that's it. p_toad, DuckSoup, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 5 others

Popular Post FlGatorwood 9,730
On the peanut butter, I like the natural roasted peanut butter with the oil standing on top. The wife used to make it and much better than the sugared stuff in the stores. Grandson was in a school play one night. The play was 2 shows to accommodate all the parents and families. So, had to keep the granddaughter out for the first hour so to entertain her, drove her through several neighborhoods to see the lights. She wanted to know why some didn't have lights outside. I told her it may be because they weren't able for it cost money, it takes muscle to put it up and various reasons. There was a time of silence and then she said, "I think those who don't decorate are just lazy!" After we saw the show that night, I drove straight to Lowe's and purchased outside lights. I installed them the next day. She never called lazy. Larry Buskirk, Gunny, Gerald and 5 others

I like to mix it with maple syrup, to a fairly runny consistency, zap it for a 1/2 minute or so, then pour it over vanilla ice cream. As to SPAM; diced with diced onions and tomato, mixed in with scrambled eggs and topped with salsa, is fantastic. Cal, Al B, Larry Buskirk and 4 others
