Welp the easy outs didn't even work for that.  looks like I'm spending another 120 bucks or so.  Sheesh.  Unless theres a better way to get this out....  Easy out my behind.  At this point looks like I'm ordering out for a new EWT mid sized hollower #1 either way expensive lesson how ever the easy outs didn't work for it what so ever and me thinks it destroyed the tool.  Oh well live and learn.  Talk about an expensive MESS.  At least I got the bowl hollowed out.

Can you possibly get a grip on the insert and try twisting it a bit loose, and then use the EZ-Out?

I already fixed the problem LOL I ordered a new one.  Hopefully it doesn't happen again.  I second dayed the thing so it was a bit on the spendy side but at least I'll have a new one by saturday lol.  Either way @Larry Buskirk I did try that and it did not work.  So that's why I placed an order for a new one.

If I'm not mistaken EWT will fix the tool for you.

Carbide bits are brittle and with a good grip with pliers or a small tap of a hammer you can break the bit and then the screw is protruding large to get a grip and remove.

That's a risky alternative....  I'll work that out at some point wither way I think what has also happened is that it was bad enough to strip the inside of the base where the screw sits or its extremely worn down either way I'll give it a go as long as I dont break the thing but even with a hammer that is risky safety wise.  Either way I'll have a new one Saturday LOL.

It’s not a big deal the new ones already on the way lol.  I’m overly prepared for that sort of thing lol.

NO ! NO ! NO!   Do not spend another penny!  Just send it to me.  Please

@AndrewB, I don't see anywhere that you tried to use the supplied allen wrench with the tool in the early stage of this?

I have a stock pile of those things @John Morris yep. I did that before I tried anything drastic. I also tried several of my matching sized Allen wrenches that I have seem to have an abundance of. But no luck.

Here’s the second birch bowl I just finished today I think it came out a lot better...

Very nice. Birch is my favorite for bowls.

Now that is looking good
