You must be about the same age as me. I put solid plate on the heels of my harness boots.

They couldn't figure out how to remove them. 

Our schools in the 1950's and early 1960's were the same as P-toad.  But, those shop pictures look great.  I have wished many times that I had had the privilege to attend shop classes.  There was a great teacher and good man named John Whitaker.  My sophomore home room was in the shop.  He told us to not touch anything.  So, we stood and responded to roll call and looked at the machines.  My grandparents would not allow me to participate.  

 

Weekend was busy cooking and wrapping gifts for oldest granddaughters birthday yesterday.  I made a killer chocolate cake and she and her mother loved it.  Thankfully, that is over.  Back to the wonderful world of wood.

Are you afraid of the enemy at night or is this just a way to get the robbers to notice your house. I do see some switches the bad guys can use so they won't trip over something and hurt themselves then sue you for everything you got?? Smart thinking!

bare wood will release air bubbles so a person should spray sealer on the wood first!

So, Gunny, when is the first football game?  Do we bring chairs?  Do we have to physical distance? Or wear masks?  Do the masks have openings through which to sip the beer?  I'll bring my whiskey.  Do I need to bring a big bottle or a truck load?

Got them zeroed in from the bedroom window.  They can't see me, but I can see them.  

 

The lights are part deterrence factor and part being able to see to get things.  My wife will chase the cats down all over the yard to "put them to bed" in the winter.   I might want to go an check on supplies I have in various places late in the evening and I like to see what I am looking for.

Looks like a windmill to me , with landing lights. Oh that is it landing lights for the Aliens.

 

@Smallpatch That is the reason for either pressure or vacum. Vacum expands bubble till it pops. Pressure makes the bubble extremely small but yes they are still there you just cannot see them.

 

@Gene Howe I think they make some of a silicone rubber, But the molds can be made of anything.

 

Now on to the weekend. Got the cabinet and drawers done and buffed out seven bowls. Today on to what may be Christmas, turned spoons and spatulas .

Ohoo, all that explained it sure sounds too hard for me  so I think I'll take my little brain and play out in the street. Second thought I have a repair going I better tend to. 

This 95 year old lady said her grand paw made this hat rack. I told her it looked home made for the center has been turned but not real professional and she said they didn't have electricity so she has no idea how he turned the center support round.. She says please put it back so no one knows it got broke.

  One would have lots of trouble to find any dust in my shop. I keep it spotless. A dirty shop is a happy shop.

I like it when she comes in with a different color on each finger. She says it drives the ladies crazy down at the beauty shop. 

Have day off today instead of tomorrow.  Having a Zoom meeting for mediation with ex-wife.  What fun?  

That was 2 1/2 hours of wasted time and money.

I finished the repair on the two places and gave it a new shot of paint and ready for it to get out of here. It does look better because I sanded all the old runs it had for that 100 years or so.

I knew the pigeon was solid brass so I give him a new dress to wear with steel wool and johnson's paste wax.

 

Since the guy didn't have electricity back when he turned that pole he must have had a set up like the old singer sewing machines had. For sure he just done the basic stuff and all the gouges are still there.
