I "feel" like I had a productive weekend.  Saturday I prepped and rolled a texture on the MBR ceiling.  Sheetrock mud thinned with Kilz 2 waterbase primer and rolled with a Rustoleum 10X roller.  Kinda messy, but it went on pretty well and looks good.  I think paint it tomorrow and paint the outside 6" or so later in the week.

I spent all day yesterday working in the yard.

Today I have taxes to finish up:(  We have a sizeable chunk to pay this year so I have put it off til now.  The sad face is for the time I will have spent doing paperwork and not doing things I'd rather be doing.  The actual tax bite - having grown up dirt poor I am ok with paying the tax man.  And I will leave it like that:mellow:

So this week, I have a bunch of moulding to hang in the DR/LR and all of the caulking and touch up paint that goes with that.  I want to make some moulding for the MBR and hopefully will get into that by the end of the week when I get my sawhorses back from the living room!  In addition to the white moulding, there was a bunch that was painted gray earlier last week...

Right there with you, Cal

@John Morris Love the picture of that workshop- natural light.

I spent Saturday cutting up the cherry logs the tree guys dropped off. Got a bunch of really big pieces for bowls and a couple of nice blocks for some hollowing projects. Ends sealed with old TiteBond II. Have half of them in the basement for roughing and the rest stored outside for now. Still a little left that has some insect damage. Might make some smaller turnings.

That's actually how I got things done with the VA went through the DAV I highly recommend that group if anyone is trying to get their benefits that they deserve.  It used to be a painful process for me it was at least but things got done.

I'm going to pretend I am on vacation this week and do some relaxing.  Sit on the back patio and watch some live Mother Nature shows.  Maybe do a few crossword puzzles.

Some alcoholic beverages are compulsory when on vacation.:ChinScratch::D

Is all the dirt/gravel get hauled in or is it dozed from around the site?

Hey Dan, so far we've balanced the project, the OX, or Over Excavation from the new roads are being used to get grade at the abutments, it's been a challenge though, much of the soil is trash, but so far so good on the quantities. Once the bridge starts going up we'll have to start bringing in dirt to replace what we took out for the abutments.

They are basic tools that are easily made Gunny, you may consider making one.

Here's a fun one.

I can't suggest a router plane, the one I use is home made as well.

Good idea, get a feel for the tool and adapt to my use and around my handicap.  Thanks!

Ya, and for about 10 bucks in material!

@John Morris Don't look like any traffic to build a bridge. It isn't a bridge to nowhere is it?

@Gunny Look on ebay. They are not cheap but hang in there. Might also look at flea markets just know what you are looking at.

My weekend was spent watching turning demos on the AAW Virtual Symposium. Didn't get much done yesterday but back to the lathe today. Who knows what will result from the day?

I'm shaking my head too Gerald, we'll just leave it at that, but hey, we got a job.

First, got those logs of pear trees into blanks for making rolling pins.  They need some trim to be down to size but that will come along in a few days.  I think there are 21.  BTW, received my Woodslicer blades from Highland Woodworking in Atlanta.  These blades are aggressive.  These things eat aligators for breakfast.  And, it cuts a straight line.  And, Highland Woodworking is a great company to work with.  So, here are the blanks.

When I started to cut the logs down the middle to fit the bandsaw, I found this on the protection cover of my bow saw.  Who would have thought in about 1997 that this label would be a prophecy?
