June 5, 20206 yr I almost forgot it's Friday! I've been out mowing for the past 4 1/2 hours, trying to beat the incoming storms. Not much planned here in S.E. Wisconsin. Almost all of the county fairs, and Summerfest have been canceled. Just taking a short break to go fill the gas can, and get back to mowing before the rain moves in. So, what's on your weekend agenda? Hopefully something more exciting than mowing.
June 5, 20206 yr Have stoop steps to paint and working on a lazy Susan for dining room table. No pics in progress yet on lazy Susan.
June 5, 20206 yr Used to remember when FRIDAY actually meant something good..... Not sure what I done, shooting pain down the right leg, mainly in the hip....hard to stand up, let alone walk......sitting down ain't much better....may take a few days off...

June 5, 20206 yr Popular Post Not sure what eles the Mrs. has planned for me. Spent today putting up the swimming pool.
June 6, 20206 yr Popular Post Friday? Its like the movie, Groundhog day. Everyday is the same. I did venture out to the tire shop. I have had new tires sitting on a rack at Discount Tire for 9 weeks. They held on to them for me because of the virus. I couldn't wait much longer with mostly bald tires. Things went smooth and all the virus precautions were taken. When I took the truck in, the guy asked how many miles were on it. I told him 202,000 miles, he looked outside and saw my 98 F150 and said,"Thats gotta be it" Thats not so unusual anymore, I know people that have many more miles than that.
June 6, 20206 yr Popular Post It's time to clean out the space where I store my lawn tractor. Having the JD dealer deliver my new E130 lawn tractoron Monday. My 16 year old L108 has served me well thru the years. The JD dealer is servicing the tractor, attaching the bagger unit, and will deliver it to my home. Not charging the state sales tax or shipping Close to $225.00 savings. Lowes or HD would have charged the sales tax and shipping charge. Nothing like a good dealership nearby. June 6, 20206 yr Popular Post Got the truck and a 20' trailer loaded for a community yard sale about 20 miles away. Supposed to rain with wind gusts to 45-50. What doesnt sell or, what the winds don't take, gets donated to the senior center. We've had the trailer loaded since the beginning of the lockdown. Glad to finally have a chance to get it unloaded.
June 6, 20206 yr Popular Post Lookin' good, Gunny. Our yard saleing foray went great. Made a few hundred but, more important, we got rid of a BUNCH of stuff we don't need. Less to move ....if and when we get this place sold. We not only sold a ton of small stuff but, we sold an 11X18 Conex box for $1500. Our son stored his Tahoe in it while he was stationed in Okinawa. So, we've had it since '07. He'll be happy to get the $. Now, Phyl and I gotta clean it out of the junk we have stored in it. Mostly scrap BB....if there is such a thing as scrap BB. our agent called a few minutes ago. We have a showing tomorrow. The guy who bought the Conex box wants to pick it up tomorrow. Got some schedules to juggle. Edited June 6, 20206 yr by Gene Howe
June 6, 20206 yr Gene, you have a picture of a Conex box. Just curious for I never seen or heard of one?
June 6, 20206 yr Popular Post @Smallpatch, Jesse, this is what ours looks like. Ranchers and horse people around here use them a lot. Some can be 40' long.

June 7, 20206 yr Popular Post It seems like every one around here has one or two but we call also call them shipping containers. You high class folks in Airzony got fancy names for lots of things. Us uns can't think that much...I did look at them when we were thinking of a shop for wifee but some 53 footer trailers are fully insulated and that was what got our attention....saved me a day or two's work and got to keep maw comfortable during the day!!! June 7, 20206 yr Popular Post I put the biggest window unit we could find in her shop and in the other end a large exhaust fan so if a person ain't standing squarely on the floor he will have to grab something if both units are turned on at the same time....the flux she uses doing the stained glass thingy is very strong so we want it to exit pronto....I think it keeps the neighbors kinda woozy but they are kinda woozy all the time and she don't solder all the time so I wonder???

June 7, 20206 yr Popular Post Around here we call them eye sores. Some businesses here have them piled up 6 high by dozens of rows. Their nothing but shipping crates from the Chinese cargo ships.
